I'm looking for some beta readers to critique my new novel, entitled 'My Time as a Secret Escort'.
The book tells the story of Reha, a frustrated PR girl who works at a college in Birmingham. Despite having a seemingly successful career, Reha is struggling with the pitfalls of online dating, getting over her ex and working with her snappy and abrupt manager Tristan, who never fails to overload her with work in spite of her existing overflowing workload.
After a disasterous date, Reha's friends recommend that she joins the app My Single Friend, which invites friends to post recommendations on their mate's profile. Keen to give dating another go, Reha asks her best friend to write her one, which leads to them having banter about her 'selling herself online'. This ultimately leads to Reha setting up a fake escort profile for a laugh and a giggle. However, as she trawls through countless messages, she finds one from someone she didn't expect, which puts her own career at risk.
I must add that this isn't a literary novel and isn't intended to be one. It's also meant to be written in almost diary form, so the language will be a mix of breezy and crude, with some dark humour thrown in. It also has some graphic scenes, so if you're OK with all of that, feel free to drop me a message and I'll send a copy of the opening chapters to your email address.
Part 1 of the novel is over 31,000 words. If you're happy to have a look, please drop me a message and we can take it from there.
