Nevada (vadatastic) | 78 comments I'm looking for examples of 1st person POV for multiple characters that is done well, preferably in an Urban Fantasy book. I'm familiar with the Song of Fire and Ice, but that is definitely high-fantasy and a bit more epic than I'm looking for.

As a reader, how many POVs are too many for you? What are the defining factors in your reasoning?

If you are someone who has used this technique, what were the pitfalls you encountered and what would you have done differently?

Lindsay (the_great_linzini) | 56 comments The main thing to watch out for when dealing with multiple POVs is making sure that the different characters rally feel like different people. If the characters all have similar "voices" the reader won't be able to feel very attached to any of them.
I recently finished "The Girl With All the Gifts," and I loved the plot but the POV stuff bugged me for that very reason.
Although not urban fantasy I recently read "Boxer Beetle" and

"Attachments" is another really good example, but also not urban fantasy.
