Anthea Carson (antheajane) | 14 comments Hello,

I just changed the cover of Call me Jane, how do I change to the new cover?

Anthea Carson (antheajane) | 14 comments I tried to add my new cover and it said I must agree this is not my cover. But this is my new cover on Amazon.

Anthea Carson (antheajane) | 14 comments Also I'd like to consolidate my two versions of The Dark Lake with the single new cover that I have on amazon. Can I do that?

You probably ran into that because you were I am guessing trying to upload it as an additional image. That is not meant for Cover photos.

In the future the way to do it is to create an ACE (Alternate Cover Edition). Just click the link on the book page that states "add a new edition".

Here is your new ACE: Call Me Jane

Here is how to set your Default Edition.

Anthea Carson (antheajane) | 14 comments Hello Philip,

I must have done something wrong, because I tried to add the new cover (I still haven't added it as an alternate image) and it won't let me because it says the book already exists.

Anthea Carson (antheajane) | 14 comments I added the edition, but how do I combine them so that there is just one edition with the current picture, and so the reviews all show up?

Anthea Carson (antheajane) | 14 comments I tried to but it is not working. I have three books that I'd like to add the new covers to. I have now uploaded the covers for all three, but can't get them current

Z-squared | 8575 comments Hi Anthea,

Goodreads policy is to keep all published covers because users like to shelve the edition that matches the one they own. Instead, we create alternate cover editions (ACEs), and you as the author have the ability to set the new cover as default.

I had to walk back several changes that were against policy for your books. However, they're all squared away now.

For Call Me Jane, here is the ACE with the current cover:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

For The Dark Lake, things got a little hairy since you've had a few different covers over time, but I have created several editions for you and merged some duplicates as well. The easiest thing to do is probably to look at this page, where all the editions are listed together:

https://www.goodreads.com/work/editio...

I noticed (unfortunately after I had already made changes) that you're in the middle of a giveaway. Giveaways are linked to ISBNs, and unfortunately, Goodreads policy in this instance is that the ISBN and ISBN13 must stay associated with the first record they were attached to on Goodreads (which is the old cover). You had split the ISBN on the old edition with the ISBN13 on the new edition. When I moved the ISBN13 to the old edition (where it's supposed to be), I think that caused the cover displayed on your giveaway to change. If you are giving away a copy with the new cover, you'll have to contact support to have a GR employee fix the giveaway to reflect the correct edition.

For all of your books, you have the ability set the new cover as the default edition (the one that appears on your author profile and in search results). To do so, follow the instructions here:

https://www.goodreads.com/help/show/3...

If you'd like, I can handle the other covers you'd like added, too. Which books, in addition to Call me Jane and The Dark Lake, have new covers?
