I knocked down my goal a few months ago, too, colleen. Sometimes life isn't going the same in August as it was in January, y'know? It never seems to affect my reading in any substantial way, so there's an argument for me to not play at all.

I barely keep up with here at all, haven't written a review in ages... hardly remember to update my reading, and I'll find myself three books behind.
Reading The Silmarillion, and I like it, overall, but I'm not going to remember most of these names when the tv show rolls around because I can barely remember them right now. 😅

It's like reading one of the Russian classics: full of names English speakers have a hard time pronouncing and remembering.
Well, I saw Daughter of the Deep coming out by Rick Riordan and now and eager to get my hands on it!
Thought I'd pay a visit to this group today as I hadn't heard anything about it through my Goodreads feed in ages. It looks like there was just one post for all of 2022! I've experienced this before, though, where a once vibrant discussion group goes quiet and not for any specific reason. So what are people reading currently, over a year since anybody talked about this? :P As for me, I'm reading Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, which I'd found while tidying up some of my shelves. I'd bought the book in 2017 because of the hype associated with the Percy Jackson movie, but then discovered this was the second in the series. I didn't pick up the first book till the following year but enjoyed reading it at the time. Then I forgot where I put the second book.... Anyway, I'm having fun reading it now. Rick Riordan is a good writer - hence his popularity! I think I'll be reading the other books in the series in due course - I'll just need to make sure I get them in the correct order first....
