Samuel Antonio | 10 comments My favorite part about this book is when he finds the tapes. That's where the whole story begins and he wants to give the tapes away already. He has to pass them down when he is done hearing all of those tapes. It's something scary because the girl that made them is dead.

Juan Nava | 10 comments Fast Food Nation: The Dark Side of the All-American Meal i love how it explains how each component works or how it came to be from the old times. it explains who usually worked in fast food places or who usually hanged out in the enablement . in the part i just read it explains how fries are packaged and sent off the fast-food places. this book just gives even the smallest details about the history of fast food.

Itayetzy | 7 comments I just started to read this new book called Not that kind of girl. So far I have read about how when she was a little girl she wrote on paper saying how she's going to lose her virginity when she finished high school since her mom did the same thing. After she wrote it on a piece of paper she asked her mom to sign it but she didn't so she ended up eating the piece paper.

message 9: by Thalia (new)

Thalia | 9 comments My favorite part of the book so far is how the main character has mini short stories about there personal highschool experiences. I really enjoyed a specific story about one of the high school parties. It showed a different point of view about how a freshman sees seniors. It also showed how even though someone could be popular there still just normal kids. It also showed like some realistic situation about people having to be in the closet and not feel like they are truly comfortable around the people they go to school with.

Mata Juan | 10 comments Orwell's invented language, Newspeak, satirizes hypocrisy and evasion by the state: the Ministry of Love (Miniluv) oversees torture and brainwashing, the Ministry of Plenty (Miniplenty) oversees shortage and rationing, the Ministry of Peace (Minipax) oversees war and atrocity and the Ministry of Truth (Minitrue) oversees propaganda and historical revisionism. In his 1978 novel 1985, English author Anthony Burgess suggests that Orwell, disillusioned by the onset of the Cold War (1945–91), intended to call the book 1948. The introduction to the Penguin Books Modern Classics edition of Nineteen Eighty-Four reports that Orwell originally set the novel in 1980 but that he later shifted the date to 1982 and then to 1984.
