A kid drops in the hole where the coffin of one of his parent is.

For the life of me: I cannot remember!
I think the kid was a boy but I don’t remember if we was crying for his mom or dad that was in the coffin. Any help will be appreciated

As far as age .... I am unsure (I promise I have fumes coming out my ears I am trying so hard to remember!!).
Young kid, maybe toddler .... the kid was male.
Adult fiction Not young adult
Not a cartoon or books with pictures .....
I seem to remember that reporters were present .....
