from the book blurb: In The Story of a New Name, Lila has recently married and made her entrée into the family business; Elena, meanwhile, continues her studies and her exploration of the world beyond the neighborhood that she so often finds stifling. Heavy topics are tackled. Marriages, pregnancies, affairs, careers and hard labor, art, politics, nurture vs nature, what chance do kids born to poverty have to really and truly catch up to their richer cohorts
Everything is built so well, the characters, the stories, their feelings, all crafted in such an accurate way that just hit me in the gut.
