Alarcón is one of the authors on the New Yorker's 2010 list of 20 under 40 authors expected to be authors who would have an impact on their generation. I have read at least one book by each of the authors and many by some. I've only read one of Alarcón's books, but I have 3 of his books on my shelf. I was recently reminded of him when reading Space Invaders by Nona Fernández, as he is one of the two authors quoted on that book's cover. I thought I'd nominate what I believe is his debut novel (from 2007) and perhaps have company reading it.

Heads up, I will not be able to moderate if it happens to win.
Nominations are now closed, The poll is up here and will remain open until November 30th:
