I finished the novella. I liked it!My question is: At the end when Kitty and Julien are talking - are we supposed to know what they're talking about (about Genny's name etc)?

No not yet except that Genny's name has a link to Julien's real identity. If you happen to have read MASK OF NIGHT you'd know what the link is, but I was assuming most readers wouldn't. The connection is quite clear in the next novel though.

How is Gisele back in Scotland? Last we heard, she was still with Tommy does this mean she is finished with her undercover work?
There were so many threads left unfinished in the novella, does this mean different characters, like Simon and Sofia, will be the drivers of the next novel?

Good question, Kim. It depends on what you mean by "drivers." Simon and the papers he gets from Kitty are important in THE TAVISTOCK PLOT. Sofia appears and is part of that same thread in that Kit is involved and concealing things from her as we see in MIDWINTER'S. Julien plays a very large role so all the various things set up about him come into play. And Nerezza will be important going forward since the reasons the League are after her are tied to the person who is trying to take over the League. But there's still a murder mystery with Malcolm and Mélanie investigating so they're still central.

Julien’s real identity is the same. So Genny’s name is a sign that Kitty knows who he really is. And that she named Genny in honor of him in a sense.
Gisele will be back. She’s in a sense on a holiday break in Scotland.

Gisele will be back. She’s in a sense on a hol..."
Clarification - Julien's identity - who we was born - is the same and the circumstances of his becoming Julien St. Juste are essentially the same with a few tweaks. His story will not play out as it did in MASK though.

That's definitely key to events going forward, Patti. As I said in another thread, if anyone who's read MASK wants to discuss in light of what we know from that, feel free to do so with spoiler warnings.

Yes essentially it is - there are a few things in his back story that are different but who he was born is the same.
