Arenda | 26447 comments From the Librarian Manual:

Authors with a relational suffix (Jr., Sr., III, etc.) SHOULD be included in the author name separated ONLY by a space after the last name.

Correct example:
L.E. Modesitt Jr.

Incorrect example:
L.E. Modesitt, Jr.

and

Authors with unhyphenated multi-part surnames and generational suffixes should be entered as follows in the sort by field:

smith, john, jr.

In the shelf display field, they should be entered as follows:

Smith Jr., John
