24. A book with an emotion in the title

I decided to do the author's 8 week challenge and the first step is to review the materials presented in her 2 books. I had read the first one but not this one. After finishing it, I realized it fit this prompt!

I read Devices and Desires by P.D. James
How did you choose this book?
It was on my TBR list and I have been reading all this author's books with another group on Goodreads

I am reading The Love & Lies of Rukhsana Ali
2. How did you choose this book?
This book has been on my to-read list for awhile, so when I saw it as one of the ATY suggestions, I knew this was the time! I have a hard time reading contemporary YA because the feels are too real (to what I experienced as a teen, and to what I see my students experience), so I'd been putting this one off. But here's the perfect opportunity!

The Hate U Give, by Angie Thomas

How did you choose this book?
The emotion was in the title and I really wanted to read it.

I read The Novel Habits of Happiness by Alexander McCall Smith
2. How did you choose this book?
I made a conscious decision in early April to switch my reading from "for the challenges" to "for my sanity while sheltering-in-place". I reached out for my perfect "stand-bys during a crisis", of which this series is one of them. Luckily this one was not only a sanity saver but a challenge prompt as well!

I am reading The Hate U Give by Angie Cruz
2. How did you choose this book?
It wasn't my original choice, however, it was recommended to me a lot following the BLM movement as it was and is very relevant to what is happening in America, so I decided to read it instead of my original choice

2. How did you choose this book? I actually changed my book for this prompt because I'm down to the end of the challenge and I had Truly Madly Guilty slotted here but I need that for the prompt an author of one of your best reads for 2018 or 2019.

It was interesting. The author is more known for his philosophical writing than his fiction, and that was definitely apparent in this novel, but it did capture some of the emotion of the ups and downs of love.

I am not usually a fiction audiobook person, but I am loving this!

It was one of the examples given when the prompt was suggested last year, and I really wanted to read it, so it was the obvious choice.
