Continuity with Void Trilogy

So does the 'Transformation event' in the final pages correspond with the sudden Void expansion seen in the original Void trilogy (I forget which of the three books)? And with Macathran's Raile origins now known to Nigel & Paula, are there any continuity issues created with those characters during the pursuit of Inigo in the original Void trilogy?

It's been a few years since I read those, so I'm a bit fuzzy.

(view spoiler)[I'm pretty sure the void expansion they determined to be a natural result of it's need for more energy and it requiring more energy in particular every time Waterwalker (or I guess in this case, even Nigel) resets a timeline. And I dont think the Quantum Buster to the Forest really affected the void at all - it just got them and the fallers ejected from it for being trouble makers.

Nigel was absent from the Void books so his knowledge doesn't spoil anything and super sleuth Paula would never let anyone in on a secret unless absolutely pertinent and necessary so I think her knowing anything is safe too. (hide spoiler)]

I think I recall that PFH is notoriously neurotic about his notes and timelines and I doubt he'd allow for any continuity issues and even they arose they'd probably be on purpose so he can somehow cleverly leverage them into some sort of Ozzie/Nigel brilliance haha.

(view spoiler)[ At the end we find that Bienvenido has been transported with surgical precision (for the distance involved) at least a few million light years and placed into orbit around a star with other planets. It would seem it has done this in the past as well. The amount of energy involved in such an action could certainly account for an observed rapid expansion of the Void.

The timeline doesn't match up though, as Inigo's movement is just getting started at the beginning of this book. I forget how many years supposedly pass in the Void for every year outside it, but it seemed to me ABD only spanned maybe 2 years outside. (hide spoiler)]

You are right. I have always found PFH to be meticulous with his story lines, character attributes and world view. His books can be daunting because of their length, however they are a great value for the hours of enjoyment they supply.

I agree Peter F. Hamilton does do a good job with continuity.
