SOLVED. SF short story, read around 2000, about aliens who come to see if they could colonize Earth, can possess humans

This was a short story I read around 2000 (possibly earlier) as part of an anthology. In it, aliens came to Earth who were able to possess people. They wanted to see if Earth was a suitable location to colonize. The scene I remember most vividly is towards the end, where one of the aliens is possessing a guy and they're on an airplane. Somehow, (view spoiler)[the alien discovers how bad the weather is on earth (I can't remember if it was a storm or a tornado), and decides there's no possible way they can survive on this planet, the weather is too terrifying. Glad you found your short story, Alessandriana. Was it in a anthology/collection by Isaac Asimov such as The Complete Stories, Vol. 2? Or were there stories by different authors?
