So if you want spoilers, there's a spoiler discussion; if not, there's the "Random Facts, Theories, and Possibilities" discussion

Ohhh thank you. I’m still figuring out the in’s and outs of goodreads. What do you need to do to become a mod for this group? Are y’all accepting applications?
Aҽɾιαʅ wrote: "I didn't think it was possible to even make polls for non-mods"Yeah, actually we can. In the group settings, there’s a thing the mods can click to allow non-mods to make polls and stuff. For this group we can, but I don’t know if they’d want us to?
Carrlene wrote: "Ohhh thank you. I’m still figuring out the in’s and outs of goodreads. What do you need to do to become a mod for this group? Are y’all accepting applications?"the mods are very particular for making new mods, and they rarely do it anyway

However, I do sometimes delete duplicated or old polls.
Poor Sophie. No elf should have to see that.
WAIT I TOTALLY FORGOT ABOUT THIS WHICH ONE IS IT?

pardon?
pardon?
I recently created a topic and I’m not a mod. I didn’t see anything in the rules against but I should’ve asked first and if it’s not allowed I’m sorry and I’ll delete the topic straight away! Please let me know either way😊
Yeah, I didn’t see anything in the rules against it either, and I’m sure your topic will be fine! Just wanted to double check for a topic I wanted to create
You guys are absolutely free to create topics! However anything inappropriate will be deleted. Also, if the topic is inactive for more than 6 months it'll be deleted to reduce clutter. :)
Are we still doing that thing where we reread kotlc in order one book per month? I saw a topic about it earlier, but now I can’t find it
I'm not sure. I vaguely remember seeing a topic or comment like that but I don't know what thread it was. I wouldn't have deleted the thread unless it was 6+ months inactive, so it's unlikely I deleted it. I think it's a comment in some thread/topic. I don't know how you could find it though. There are hundreds of comments.
Deleted the "Your Stories!" topic for being inactive since May 01, 2020. It has been inactive for about 7 months. I will begin looking through the many polls you guys have created to delete the duplicates/inactive ones. :)
Polls that have been deleted:- A poll asking what book the poll maker should read next, voting ended May 01, 2019
- A poll asking which drawing the poll takers preferred, voting ended October 29, 2019
- A poll asking poll takers if they were hero or henchmen, voting ended October 25, 2019
- A poll asking poll takers to choose between Sophie-Keefe and Sophitz, voting ended Jan 1, 2021, hasn't been active for a while before that though
Polls were deleted for inactivity or voting having already ended. I will be deleting more polls later.
Topics deleted:- "Foxfire" last active Dec 23, 2019
- "Exillium" last active Dec 20, 2019
- "Eternalia" last active July 29, 2019
- "Evianna's House" last active May 27, 2019
- "Falling from the Sky" last active Feb 22, 2019
- "The Black Swan Hideout" last active Oct 11, 2018
All of these topics are roleplaying topics and none of them have been active for over a year.
Clementine wrote: "Hullo Mods!!! so, i was wondering..... since there are like... 5 mods?? and only one of you is sort of but totally not really active, do you think that maybe some of the more active members could..."
Hmm. . . I've been considering it but I'm worried that if there are too many mods they'll start fighting over different ideas. I also haven't really noticed much of a problem with behavior here that would need mods. What do you think?
Throwback to 2018 where you'd get like 13 notifications every hour

I 100% respect whatever decision you make, but I think I know the group Clem is talking about and I think we’d all be pretty respectful of one another. Even if it’s just one or two of us that you think would be best fit, I think we could really get this group going again. It’s totally up to you though :)

@Clementine, @Carrlene I like the points you guys made. I think I'll add more moderators.@Clementine, could you dm me the people you were thinking of? I just don't want anyone to feel bad if they're not chosen.
Fiona, I agree with adding more mods. Good job for thinking of it y'all! And do you think you should un-mod the people who basically left Goodreads? Unless you for sure know that they're coming back?

A ban on spoilers in most discussions for the new book, UNLOCKED by Shannon Messenger, will be in place from November 14 to December 1. There is a new discussion created specifically for spoilers and talking about the book during that time period. However, spoilers in all other discussions will be removed.
The link to the discussion for spoilers is
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
You can also find it in the "Important" folder labelled "Book 8.5: Unlocked (SPOILERS!)"
The time period starts before the release date (Nov 17) because some bookstores have been known to release the books before the official release date.
Using the HTML code for spoilers (view spoiler)[ . . . (hide spoiler)] in discussions other than in the one for spoilers will be treated like a spoiler and will be removed. This is to prevent vague conversations around spoilers that prevent people who do not want spoilers from participating in the conversation.
Have fun reading! :)
Thanks,
Fiona
