Read in the late 1970's. Set in Scotland. Young woman moves to small house or cottage. She's ill or broken-hearted or both. The ghost does not haunt the house, I think; she meets him outside. He is either a Roman warrior or a knight. It's a sweet romance, no sex. The word 'green' keeps coming to mind as part of the title, but it's not Green Darkness or Green Dolphin Street.
