The characters Jerry, Patsy & Erica are the protagonists in the last five novels. The series begins with Jerry's father and another central character. The story goes on from one novel to the next.

This series has three central characters, Jerry, Patsy & Erica who feature in five of the novels and pursue their continuing adventures in Ohio and Georgia. The first book features Jerry's father and another character who is frequently mentioned after she is murdered. Its storyline forever develops and the books certainly are series material rather than individual novels.
