Coquille Fleur (shellflower) | 1 comments Hi Anna how's it going? I haven't been on here much lately, but I'm totally excited to see how this group turns out. As you know, I loved King by Right of Blood and Might and so did my twin sister :) Is summer over up in Alaska yet?

message 9: by Emily-Jane (new)

Emily-Jane Orford (ejhomusic) | 4 comments Hi Anna - Great idea. We can share frustrations and joys of writing projects in the works.

message 10: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) | 97 comments Mod
Coquille, yep, summer's over for another season, so I thought I'd try to do something with this group. It's been sitting on my board since I joined GR, but back then I didn't know anything about groups and AW swept me away.

Emily-Jane, I would love such interaction.

message 11: by Emily-Jane (new)

Emily-Jane Orford (ejhomusic) | 4 comments I think summer is over here in Ottawa, too. No frost yet, probably tonight. Gardening season is just about done for another year :( On the other hand, if I can't spend my days gardening, perhaps I'll spend more time writing :)

Emily-Jane Orford (ejhomusic) | 4 comments As another note to new groupies, I have one of my books listed as a giveaway. Tomorrow's the deadline to put your name on the list.

We did have a frost here, though that was about a week ago now, roughly. It's hard for me to keep track of what day of the week it is. It also frosted back in June. I just don't know what to think about Global Warming anymore. The summers seem to be getting colder and the winters more bitter, here anyway.

message 14: by Diane (new)

Diane I'm in Georgia and it is still quite warm here during the day. It has been down in the 60's at night thou. I will send you some of the heat if you will send some of the cool. I will beglad when we get down to the 70's and 6o's. We have had a very hot dry summer here. Looking forward to some fall weather. I know I should not complain. I could be worse.

message 15: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) | 97 comments Mod
hahaha - not much of a fan of heat. The 60s and 70s for me is a hot summer day.

message 16: by Diane (new)

Diane I was born up North and I mean up North (Buffalo, New York) snow country. I have lived in the South about 32 yrs now. Was nice back then when we came to Florida. I lived there for 25 yrs. I still like the change of weather.

message 17: by Emily-Jane (new)

Emily-Jane Orford (ejhomusic) | 4 comments We dropped to zero C last night. First frost. Not looking forward to the winter.

Jon Magee (jonmagee) | 4 comments Hi, good to be a part of this group. I am currently living in Scotland, but in my early years I moved about considerably and was never anywhere more than 3 years max from birth till I was 30. I lived in Singapore during the Chinese riots of the 1950's, Germany at the height of the cold war 1960/62, Aden (Yemen) during the conflict and terrorism of 1966/67. As an adult I arrived in Malta as the Maltese Prime Minister decided he did not like the British, and then was in Cyprus 1973/75, in time for the Military coup and subsequent Turkish invasions. Anyone notice the common factor whenever there is trouble in the world? My 1st 2 books relate some of those experiences both in Aden, and the 2nd book is set in Singapore.

Sounds kinda like trouble followed you around, Jon.

message 21: by Jon (new)

Jon Magee (jonmagee) | 4 comments You can read of the teenage experiences in the conflict in Aden in the book "From Barren Rocks to Living stones". The events in Singapore are recorded in "Paradise Island, Heavenly Journey".

The 3rd book, when I get the time to complete it, will feature the military coup and Turkish invasions of Cyprus.

Adrian | 3 comments A group of climbers is missing in the Tyrolean Mountains. A search and rescue team is dispatched. The mission is soon cancelled, the missing climbers are located, having returned by a different route.

In the knowledge that the climbers are safe, the rescue team heads back down the mountain, en route they discover a body frozen in a slab of ice.

<< 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 >>
The ice slab is airlifted to a local laboratory and as the ice melts, it quickly becomes clear that this is a discovery of undeniable archaeological significance. And then, to everyone’s amazement, the body gradually warms and is found to have a pulse.

Swiss PhD student Gerhardt Shynder is catapulted from his sedentary university life to take charge of the ancient Roman, Leddicus Palantina. And thus begins an implausible adventure that goes global and changes both their lives beyond recognition.

Its great on your part to live at such a place with ,dish, being installed only now.But that seems an ideal place for reading and writing.Very exclusive i believe!

message 46: by Anna (new)

Anna Walls (annalwalls) | 97 comments Mod
It is. My love of reading fueled my desire to write something new and the quiet here allowed it, especially since I'm home all winter long. Now, if I could just turn off the internet more....

Ckay Brooks (ckaybrooks) I signed up with Goodreads because people said it was a good place for authors and readers, but not I get an email that one of my books it about to be banished if I don't do something today. Goodreads is not user friendly to me and I can't figure out what I'm suppose to do to 'rescue' my book. Any suggestions? - Kay
