I chose this book because the cover looked bright and happy and my mom suggested it to me. I liked this book because it had a nice balance between calm, peaceful times in France and the tragic war story. The book is about a girl named Abi who travels to France and works for an old Woman named Eliane who is a beekeeper. The story changes perspectives from the two characters and gives flashbacks to Eliane's life during the war, her love story, and all the brave things she did to help the Resistance, as well as flashbacks to the tough life Abi had back at home. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes love stories or is interested in beekeeping.
