SOLVED. Scandinavian (?) short novel about an unenthusiastic man who writes lots of lists. [s]

Hi,

Im looking for a book which I lent to somebody who I am no longer in touch with.

The cover was black with coloured dots, in a classic Scandinavian minimalist design, and the title contains the words IDIOT/STUPID and IRONIC / IRONY although, as you might be able to tell Im not 100% sure on the details :)

|I think the book is by a Scandinavian author, it's relatively short- around 150 pages, and focusses on a young man who is charged with looking after his successful brothers house. The main character lacks enthusiasm for the modern world, and as a consequence is unemployed and much of the book focusses on his relationship with his brother although at the end he flies to America.

Its relatively recent - within the last 10 years and is extremely funny in a dry way, mainly due to the many mundane lists he creates. I read it first about 4 years ago.

Your help is hugely appreciated.
