Dylan Guihot | 2 comments hey guys, I need urgent help finding a book, its has been years since I have read the book but for the past six months have been trying to find it again, I don't remember much about it at all which makes it hard to find. I remember the cover being a dark mysterious sort of look to it, it also had a young girl on the front {believed to be an orphan}, it followed the story of a young orphan girl who was put in an orphanage, and I cant remember for sure but I vaguely her becoming friends with a cat that could talk or something along those lines. sorry I don't remember much about the book have not read it since primary school, but is going to mean the absolute world to find this book once more. thank you so much guys and cant wait the hear back

also if it helps I remember seeing the part two to the series, ever got to read the book but remember the cover had a young girl on it once again this time the cover also had eagles on it and the background was a rocky looking gorge somewhere. thank you

Dylan Guihot | 2 comments that's the hardest part for me, I don't remember much about the book for I haven't read it in around 10 years, it is a young adult book id say and most likely a fiction fantasy book, I was unable to finish the book due to losing the book, I remember it being part 1 of 4 book series, but that is all that I am able to remember about this book. sorry :)

Please use the edit link next to your topic header to add genre and plot details, per the rules. It doesn't matter if you don't remember a huge amount - the point is to get as much as you do remember (and will fit) into your header. A header that says "help" doesn't help the people scrolling through the topics quickly to see which ones they might be able to solve.

Atlanticus | 6 comments It sounds a TEENY WEENY bit like Plain Kate.

-Plain Kate is a fantasy scholastic novel.
-It is not the first novel in a series.
-It was published nine years ago.
-It doesn't have eagles nor gorges in the background of its cover.
-The protagonist is an orphan throughout most of the book.
-The protagonist is never put into an orphanage.
-She does have a talking cat.
-I thing the cover has a slightly mysterious feel...?

I'm not sure if it's the one you're looking for, but just throwing an idea out here :D.

SBC (essbeecee) | 1594 comments Is it Obernewtyn by Isobelle Carmody? The MC is sent to an orphanage (of a sorts!) where she befriends the cat, Maruman, who she can talk to telepathically. It was your description of the cover of the second book that made me think of it though - The Farseekers has a cover like you've described (check out the different cover editions).

I had exactly the same thought... It was only a four book series at the time the OP was reading their book - the last three books have only been released in the last 10 years or so.
