I wonder what the exact relevance to the backstory of the Riddles and Frank was. Or whether it was just to set the scene? I hope there’s more to it, it seemed like a lot of detail just to explain that Voldemort is hiding in his family’s old house and killed the gardener who overheard them.

I’m also a little confused about the 3 Riddles.
Were the three who died Voldemort’s great-grandparents and grandfather?
We know that...
- A man and his parents lived in the house
- The son who lived in the house was named Tom
- Voldemort-Riddle was named after his grandfather
So is that Tom his grandfather? It can’t be his father because otherwise he would have said his mother named him after his father, rather than grandfather.

Edit: Never mind, I think it’s his dad.

I’m guessing the shady teenager Frank saw was Voldemort-Riddle? The grown up man couldn’t be him because fifty years ago, Voldemort-Riddle was still at school and opened the Chamber of Secrets.

I love that Harry’s feeling super happy right now. The moment Mr W made Vernon say bye to Harry was so great!

We finally meet Bill and Charlie. Never expected Bill to be like a punk-rock type guy.
Bill and Charlie having a fight with the tables in the air was a surprise, looks like Fred and George aren’t the only cheeky ones in the family then!

This was my favourite conversation so far and I couldn’t stop laughing:
‘I shudder to think what the state of my in-tray would be if I was away from work for five days.’ ‘Yeah, someone might slip dragon dung in it again, eh, Perce?’ said Fred. ‘That was a sample of fertiliser from Norway!’ said Percy, going very red in the face. ‘It was nothing personal!’ ‘It was,’ Fred whispered to Harry, as they got up from the table. ‘We sent it.’

Ooh the hooded wizards are creepy!

Harry’s wand is gone. Was Malfoy a distraction? It seems weird that he came along around the time that it happened to go missing.

The differences between the house elves is interesting. Dobby would have given almost anything for clothes but a lot of other house elves seem to dread being given clothes and having nowhere to go.

(view spoiler)[ The Weasleys, Harry and Hermione go the portkey closest to the burrow to travel to the Quidditch World Cup.

I liked the fact that we get to know more people from the Wizarding World, like Mr Crouch , bagman and winky the house elf.

The world cup is won by Ireland. After the game there was a commotion where the hooded wizards (those who support Voldemort) are elevating the muggles and attacking the tents. in that commotion, Someone made the dark mark of Voldemort.

Thus, either voldemort himself made it or one of his supporters. personally I think that voldemort did it! (hide spoiler)]

Harry is one of the Triwizard Champion, so there are 4 champions in all. There should have only been 3. I think that Karkaroff might have put Harry's name in the goblet since he was one of the hooded wizards. He is possibly working with Voldemort and would like to kill harry in the competition. This was somewhat confirmed by Sirius.

Mad-eye moody is being really helpful to harry and he is keeping an eye on him. He seems that he is suspecting that something bad is going to happen related to Voldemort.

Throughout these chapters I really missed the bond between Harry and Ron, at least they forgave each other! (hide spoiler)]

Even though there was only a short amount about the Dursley's, I didn't want him to stay with them any longer. It's interesting to see Bill and Charlie Weasley and their personalities. Ah Moody seems to be very exciting for them right now. Interesting that Harry is the only one who managed to resist the imperius curse and then Moody made him practise until he could fight it properly.

After Harry received his letter from Sirius that he was coming back and Harry went to bed, Neville was awake! Sneaky! I wonder how much he heard and if he’s going to tell them...

I’m so excited that the students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang have arrived. They arrive so fancy in a flying carriage and on a boat that rises out of the lake. I feel like Hogwarts’ entrance would be so boring in comparison.
