A lot of the editions have an illustrator listed on the copyright page x

Yes! There's an illustrator listed in the copyright page in my edition like it says in the rules, so that must be the one goodreads has :(
Finished two books so far, will post them asap on the review thread but I probably won't be near a computer until wednesday. :(

The problem is, it's hard for us to know how many illustrations there are, so unless an illustrator is specifically listed as only being there for cover illustrations, we have to count the book as illustrated x
Makes sense, Sarah. it would be too much work/impossible to confirm each book. Just a little sad in this particular case ☹️

Could we provide proof or something that the illustrations compose less than like even 1% of the books content? I think Wayward Son has like 5 illustrations total, and I don't mind providing page references or something.

Yea same. It just sucks that so many points are lost because they actually promote the illustrator of like, chapter headings for once
I just flipped through the hardcover today (I listened on audiobook) and it has like 5 total :(

Agreed. Give a few fancy spirals around those numbers and now we are out bonuses and only 1/3 points hurts. My book now is like that. Listening to the audio which is 20 hours long but because there is an illustrated listed, it hurts. We need a middle ground at the least. Like 1/2 points for some and the 1/3 is for books tagged high for art, graphic novels/manga, etc

I've just started Harry Potter #2 today and won't be reading my next read (Bloodwitch) until around the 12th. I have 5 tests next week so i'm super busy lol

Yeah I agree. It's crazy to read so much of just a regular book but then it gets marked by whomever as having an illustrator and then gets treated like a normal graphic novel when it isn't anywhere close.
I had a pretty good reading weekend! I finished two of my other buddy read books, (I didn't mean to though) and I'll wait to post my reviews so I can participate more in the buddy reads. Sometimes on weekends, I'll start a book, and if it's good or something addicting, I'll finish it in the same day... and that happened this weekend! HA! So I'll wait to post them until more conversations happen with the buddy read threads. :) :) Hope everyone else had a good weekend!

I had a busy weekend so didn't get much reading done, but hopefully will finish my 2nd book (The Cruel Prince) tonight and start my 3rd (Serpent & Dove) tomorrow!

Harry Potter is just a great series to read, but you'll need to make that up for yourself :)
I’m starting Tower of Dawn in a little bit and probably star touched queen! I’m listening to Sky in the Deep right now and I’m planning to finish it before I go to work. Sorry I’ve been extremely busy this past weekend I spent the weekend with my boyfriend and his family

I will discuss it with Maddie, but this isn't the only book we've had this issue with. We have managed to find editions of some books which don't have illustrations (Harry Potter books became an issue recently), but I haven't been able to find an edition of Wayward Son that definitely doesn't have illustrations. I'll see what I can do x
