The travels of one specific book

This book details the life and movements of one hardbound book. It may have been gifted to someone who re-gifted it to someone else, who donated it to a library. A member may have checked it out and left it on a park bench. Someone may have picked it up, but left it in their house when they moved. I know that I have the specifics all wrong, but you get the picture. I don't think this book was contemporary.
