Frank Klus | 3 comments Unbelievable! If politicians don't want to come off sounding stupid they should just consult scientists in the first place.

Jimmy Wouldn't that be nice.

I think it's wrong to lump all politicians together. There are many who do understand science.

A recent New Yorker article thought President Obama may be forced to take executive action on climate change with the Republican takeover of the Senate. It's going to be a bitter two years I think.

Hi, Frank!

Unfortunately, right-wing politicians do want to come off sounding stupid, because their constituency celebrates stupidity (per Idiot America: How Stupidity Became a Virtue in the Land of the Free). They represent the unreality-based community, that absolutely loathes scientists, and rejects rationality as an insidious liberal conspiracy. Feel free to join us, also, in the general discussion at "Reality-Based Chat." "Idiot America" has received some attention.

Mark | 785 comments Jimmy -- No Republican will admit to believing in science. (Crowds of constituents bearing copies of the Malleus Maleficarum would come after him or her with torches and piles of kindling.) I vote for "reading comprehension failure."

Jimmy I don't think that vote meant anything to them.

Sounds reasonable. Human life doesn't. :) :)

Perhaps this is now the de facto "Republican science denial" thread, though I like "Volcano Math." :)
