Michelle Evenson (elleevenson) | 1 comments I am in San Diego. My favorite type of book to read is fiction with non-fiction settings. I also like books that teach me about other cultures and people. I love reading and learning to improve my understanding of all types of issues, people, and cultures. I am hoping to gain insight.

Anne | 1 comments Hi! I’m Anne from New Orleans. I love classic literature that is considered part of the canon, and I also enjoy contemporary fiction. I hope to expand my knowledge of authors whose writing addresses issues at the forefront of our consciousness. I look forward to discussions with the group.

message 5: by Debby (new)

Debby Phillips HI, Debby in Eugene OR. I love to read! I mostly read fiction- mysteries, female detective novels, some fantasy like Sarah Mass (all offer a bit of escape from current reality!). I read non-fiction for many many years as part of studies and my work. I'm glad for this opportunity to read more non-fiction with benefit of discussion group!

Buddy Schreiber | 3 comments Hi! I'm Buddy from NJ-- now living in Irvine, California. I'm a 36 year-old Gay male NOW supporter & proud feminist. I was raised by an amazing single mother who taught my sister and I to always help others My mom has always been our biggest advocate and my cheerleader and primary and sole-caregiver because I have Cerebral Palsy. We always stood up for equal, civil, lgbt, immigrant, and women's rights. I joined this bookclub to meet like-minded friendsm and read audiobooks of the monthly selections.

My favorite books to listen to are autobiographies, political, mysteries, lgbt themed stories etc.

So happy to be here with all of you!

XOXO,
Buddy--

Alexandra (ambonomo) | 10 comments I’m from New York City

I have pretty broad tastes in books. Right now I seem to be swinging between non fiction that is tangentially related to how we got to this moment in history and fantasy.

I joined because I like book clubs and wanted a new place to work out my thoughts online.

message 9: by Julia (new)

Julia Julia from Chicago. I joined this book group so I can be amongst others reading feminist books and read/learn different viewpoints on the range of issues women and girls face today.
