I agree. It definitely reads differently from the other books in the series and I think that's because she's choosing to focus more on the love story over the crime story.

The ending was really nice! I really enjoyed how everything came full circle and Audrey could be at peace with what really happened to her brother. He wasn't a good person, but he also didn't do it by himself. It is kind of sad.

And Audrey and Thomas together, marrying after 2 years, but enjoying their lives together before that... Really enjoyed it! Its a very nice series!



And this book focusing more on their relationship... I really liked it. We needed it after the third book.

Audrey Rose and Thomas remain my OTP for life, and I'm so happy they got their happy ending. I actually LOL'd when Thomas revealed the Queen had blessed their engagement and his father thought he was going to get blessing for the fake engagement. Yassss grandmere! Can we agree Audrey Rose's grandmere is the best character in this series?? I want more from her!

It was so satisfying to see how Audrey Rose has transformed from the first book and to see her fighting with Holmes, and showing that she won't stoop to his level and lets him face justice. From the moment she was drugged in the hotel until the moment she left, I was on the edge of my seat and could not read fast enough.

And your definitely not the only one!! Thomas has always kind of weirded me out for some reason, and it’s even worse in this book. Every other thing he says is some variation of “I love you”. I never like Thomas, but this book made him even worse. He was too doting, too nice. And then he kept making “scandalous” comments even at inappropriate times, I got very tired of it. As soon as we got to actually hunting the killer, I enjoyed it, but even that felt super rushed. Less than half of the book was actually spent on it, which is a huge disservice considering this is a book about hunting serial killers (hide spoiler)]

I just wanted to finish it! I made it two hundred pages in, and wasn’t letting myself dnf it. I just rewarded myself by rereading my favorite book afterwards, which made everything better!
