John Der | 1 comments I remember vaguely reading this book but never finishing it a reaaaaally long time ago and now I can't really remember any significant details but that a man seems to be in a place he isn't familiar with and the people in this place don't just have 2 genders I believe he said they had 5 and that they saw genders and people differently than we (humans I think) did that they had a different perspective THANK YOU X A MIL

Shadow Man is a possibility. There were definitely more than two genders. For some reason, seven is in my memory, but it could have been five.

Duplicate thread deleted. Please don't create identical threads as it can get really, really confusing.

Diana Welsch | 530 comments I suspect you are thinking of Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut. Billy Pilgrim is abducted by aliens and kept in a human zoo. The aliens tell him that they have identified at least five genders in humans, and that humans see time in a linear way, which is differently than any other being.

Diana Welsch | 530 comments I just looked it up, the aliens actually identified seven genders.
