Uh, he can be if you want him to be but I'm not sure how he would feel about taking orders from his own adviser? :D She's the head of the COS. He definitely knows about it. Maybe he's a recruiter for the COS, so he's a member and his job is to recruit those he believes the COS could trust to be among their ranks? Maybe he could take on other jobs as well, like passing on things of importance he hears to the COS, things like that? He would make a good informant.

It's an organization run by Ellowyn Dusk, with the king and queen's permission, with the aim of keeping the seelie court (and now the entire kingdom since the COS is planned to continue after the treaty) safe. They are a group of spies, interrogators, assassins, weapon experts etc. Their job is to discover and prevent traitors from enacting dangerous plans, find out who everyone is loyal to, foil assassination attempts on important people, things like that. In the COS, the king might have a job like recruiting people he absolutely trusts to the COS. The king would know where the headquarters were, and who was in the COS. The king would know all the members and code names of members of the COS. The king would also know when a COS member was guarding him. The king might take part in COS members to trick information out of traitors, that sort of thing.

Hello hello! I myself, along with a few others of the community of goodreads have noticed the fallen Fantasy Groups. So I, along with others are trying to bring some back! Bear with me, I’m a bit new at this. Suggestions, moderating help, etc would be of use! But also spreading the word or joining my new group!

The Court Of Life
Based off of Court of Thorns and Roses By Sarah J. Maas.

There are seven courts that rule the land of Prythian. The Four Seasonal Courts, Winter, Spring, Summer, and Autumn. Then the three Astral Courts. Night, Day, and Dawn. Each of these Courts are linked to a High Lord. There are many different species in the world of Prythian. Fae and Humans are not the only ones who live in this world. There are animals, yes, but there also creatures straight from dreams, and nightmares.

This is a public group! So you can invite anyone you desire! It’s simular to this group, I realize, but spreads out more evenly among the courts. There are no Kings and Queens. Just Lords. The lords can be female or male. And you DON’T have to be from that court to take over. If you need help with understanding what is going on, check the information sections we have set up! Or just pm one of the mods!
There are a limited amount of High Fae spots! So hurry on down if you want to claim one! Check the “Taken Spots” chat to see if your spot is open or not!

Thanks for taking the time to read this! I appreciate it!

(Yes, we are still editing a bit, again, tips and suggestions really do help. It goes a long way!)

Here’s the link!

Xander Mizuki (xandermizuki) | 211 comments I just realized something. If Eldrahil is a high ranking fighter among the ranks of castle Graceling, wouldn´t he have at least a few subordinates?

Do you mean in the Court of Secrets or in the Castle? I'm not sure those outside of the COS would know how important he is, would they? Isn't most of his work for the COS?

But in the COS, any member with a less important job, or any member who has just arrived and still needs to be trained, would probably be his subordinate.

message 66: by Xander (new)

Xander Mizuki (xandermizuki) | 211 comments It was just a question, no need to worry about it

message 67: by Xander (new)

Xander Mizuki (xandermizuki) | 211 comments I might not be on for a good while due to the fact I am heading to the hospital.

For context, I was cleaning my sister´s room bc she refused to do it herself, so I did and when I was moving a few random bits. I get my hand covered in BATTERY ACID so, right now I am in infuriatingly immense pain and am so ready to get payback. But, she will be getting punished enough already.

message 68: by Dark Angel, Queen of the Silver Mist (new)

Dark Angel | 628 comments Mod
OMG! BATTERY ACID?! How the heck did that happen?! Where did the acid come from?!

message 69: by Xander (new)

Xander Mizuki (xandermizuki) | 211 comments A battery powered clock my sister ¨needed . I took three D batteries, so a lot of acid there.

It's your basic faerie tale really, some people are just really good technicians or engineers, but there is no modern transportation or modern technology.

Just nothing electrical, okay?

message 78: by Xander (new)

Xander Mizuki (xandermizuki) | 211 comments ATTENTION:

Raven Rock is now open to rp in. Just when you enter the city, enter via Titan´s bridge of the three methods:

1.) Walk the entire bridge
2.) Take the rail system
3.) Hop on an airship at the airship dock on the bridge

@Xander: What's an airship? Is it powered by magic? If it's powered by magic then it's fine.
They have trains? Are the trains powered by magic? If so, it's fine.
If anyone does anything you're unhappy with there (out of character) just report it to me. If they break a rule, just report it.

message 81: by Xander (last edited Dec 22, 2019 06:03PM) (new)

Xander Mizuki (xandermizuki) | 211 comments The machines are powered by a combination of kinetic magic (i.e. elementals) and steam. An airship is basically like a flying boat

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Hi! I’m not very familiar with Grisha because I haven’t read any Leigh Bardugo. But my favorite system hands down is Allomancy, Feruchemy, and Hemalurgy from Mistborn.

message 86: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Mistborn is a little long, but it’s absolutely worth it! A shorter book by him that’s really good is The Rithmatist. That one has a cool magic system too.

message 87: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments No problem! I really like giving book recommendations since I read so much lol.

message 88: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Do you read just fantasy or any other genres?

message 89: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments I read those too. You have any favorite sci fis?

message 90: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments I don't know the first one, but I've read Cinder more than a couple times lol. I love Orson Scott Card's Pathfinder trilogy. I think it's way better than Ender's Game. And I really like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams), The Stainless Steel Rat (Harry Harrison), Last Day on Mars (Kevin Emerson), and Swipe (Evan Angler).

message 91: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments It's gotten harder lately to find good sci-fis. There are some like Hunger Games and Divergent and Maze Runner that are or were pretty popular, but I didn't really enjoy any of those. I've had to do some digging to find the better ones, but I've always loved sci-fi for as long as I can remember. Consequently, I've built up a large library of it lol.

message 92: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments I'm honestly not sure the exact number. I used up all my bookshelf space a long time ago with all my sci-fi and fantasy, so I have the rest of my collection scattered all around the house lol. I also don't own all my favorite sci-fis sadly. I use the library a lot.

message 93: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Nice. I usually use Barnes and Noble since people give me gift cards to there for my birthday almost every year lol, but I use them up pretty quickly. I do like to get a book from the library first to make sure I'm not wasting money on it if I end up not liking it. There are quite a few books I wished I'd gotten from the library first so I knew not to buy them, but I've learned my lesson at this point oof.
Are there any books you've read that you really just wished you hadn't? Even if it was a library book and you didn't spend money on it, but you just wanted back the time you spent reading it?

message 94: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Ouch. I've never read it. I love Lord of the Rings, though. Parts of those books were slow and hard to get through, but the books are still fantastic. As for Harry Potter and His Dark Materials, I can't say I've read any of those.

message 95: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Cool cool. I like books that make you think, although I like reading for fun too. The Pathfinder trilogy is one that forces you to think a bit. It has a much more complex exploration of time travel that almost makes your head hurt. It's like Roger Zelazny's Lord of Light in that you can't read it absentmindedly. You have to really pay attention to what you're reading.

message 96: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments I don't mind toxic relationships too much as long as it doesn't seem like the book is supporting it or advocating for it. I think it can be a good character or plot arc to see a character get out of one or end up being a stronger person for going through one. Personally, I like books that don't gloss over or avoid things because they're uncomfortable or complicated.
I haven't read The Mortal Instruments either lol. I kind of learned the hard way that I shouldn't read the more popular series because I almost never end up liking them, so I've made a point of avoiding certain books and series like Harry Potter and TMI and some others.

message 97: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Yeah, I get the nostalgia thing. I have a few books and/or series that I like mainly for that reason.
I've seen it happen more than several times, both in real life and in fiction. Maybe we just have different ideas of what makes a relationship toxic or unhealthy, or perhaps it's simply different life experiences :)
Do you have any other interests besides books?

message 98: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments What kinds of art, writing, and songs do you like?
I agree with that. My own personal definition is more involved and complex, but I won't spam the chat with it. If you'd ever like to have a more detailed discussion about it, my PM box is always open, and I enjoy the experience of respectfully and civilly exchanging viewpoints with people :)

message 99: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Cool! I wish I could draw, but I don't have much talent in that area. One of my good friends really loves kpop. In high school we used to watch kdramas on the weekends and eat chocolate and pizza lol.
I'm more into 70's, 80's, and 90's alternative, rock, new wave, and metal. I also have a fondness for classical music and stuff from the 40's and 50's. I like a little country as well. It's the oddest collection, I know. I'm less specific in my music tastes than I am in my literature tastes.

message 100: by the_rabid_snail (new)

the_rabid_snail | 303 comments Bach is a great composer and organist. I like his cello suites and some of his fugues. I usually prefer the classical and romantic eras of music, so usually I listen to more Schumann, Chopin, Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff, Dvorak, Ravel, Beethoven, and some others, though Dvorak and Ravel technically came after the romantic era. I don't listen to a ton of recent metal. A lot of it has kind of crossed over with pop, which is not my favorite genre, so I listen to metal from the 90's or 80's. Queensryche is currently my favorite metal band.
