Sarah J. Maas's confirmation of Rowan having significant page time is enough to keep us teeming on the edge of our seats.
I'm currently re-reading Heir of Fire. Celaena's state at the beginning of the book is heartbreaking. She was carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders, and her dynamics with Rowan at the start was antagonistic at best.
But she opened up to him, and he to her. They grew together. I suspect that it is only the beginning, and they have much ground to cover together.

I was clicking around on Youtube and stumbled across an interview with Sarah J. Maas in which she stated that Caleana "has chosen at this point" (referring to Queen of Shadows). I can just see the legions of fans spazzing, burning to know.On another interesting note, Sarah was requested by a fan to sort her characters in Harry Potter houses - and Celaena and Rowan are both in Gryffindor. :)

I'm hoping for Rowan/Aelin lovin' in the fourth book. All that build up can't have been for nothing, right? I don't think it's a coincidence that Ronan smells like Terrasen (pine and snow).I was looking around Sarah J. Maas's Pinterest and noticed a lot of Rowan pins where he's got a hooded tunic getup and armed with arrows. In many other pins, he's wearing heavy armor as well as a mask. At least two pins depict him with a wyvern, one of them where he's in a mid-air flip. Strong hints of him being in battle. More than anything for Rowan, I really hope he survives the series. <3

OMG I dont know if I could take another of her boy toy losses...I'm prepared to Choal to bite the dust...maybe even Dorian, but not Rowan. I'm with Dagmawit I dont know if i could survive it. Sam was painful enough.

Thank you Misaki! Also I think Aedion is a fae with no powers or transformations. Rowan's OLD MATE was full fae but she couldn't shift so I think its the same foe Aedion. Either that or he isn't full fae. Also thank you both for voting!!!
Whilst I am not opposed to the idea of Calaena and Rowan becoming a couple I do ship Chaol and Calaena really hard. I do see the point in some peoples arguments about Chaol not being able to accept Calaena's powers/heritage but at the end of a Crown of Midnight he said he loved her. As well as at the end Heir of Fire he chose Dorian over the king despite knowing that Dorian has fae powers and that magic has been banished with severe consequences. So to me that shows immense growth in character on Chaol's behalf and that he can come to accept Calaena fully for who she is. Another reason why I believe Calaena and Chaol could still end up together is because whilst Calaena is in Doranelle she doesn't let herself think about Chaol because she needs to stay focused on what she must do.
HY 360 I love your comment! Mikaela I can see where your coming from because of your numerous points but he did choose the king over her. It's also hard to digest as a fan for aelin to choose choal the dude who killed her best friend. The fact that he has to make himself love her for who she is also bothers me. That's a big reason why I love Rowan he accepted her for who she was and instead of giving her a bowl of ice cream he gave her the push she needed because he knew what it felt like. I also think they have a better bond because it took forever for her to connect
with choal while she seemed happier in half the time with rowan. Everybody has their own opinions and I respect that but I need my ship to get bigger. So I shall convince till I drop. PLease comment back, I just love debates and I like hearing your ideas. Which, I think, is kinda terrible. I had an issue with him NOT accepting her as who she is. In the previous book, not only did he break her heart, but also stay away from her because magic/fae/enemy etc. He's faaar too loyal and used to the no magic court and life.
He supports Dorian and is loyal to him beyond anyone else.
From what I understood (or how I read), Chaol only began to accept her and see her after Dorian's little speech to pick a side.
Chaol would have to go through some serious character development. Not to mention, it would be a little out of character for him to FULLY accept Aelin in a book or so.
And idk. He kinda seems weak.
Emotionally.
Captain of the guard squeamish when it comes to killing?
Aelin has killed and will kill many more. I think she needs someone to balance that and to understand her.

And that one scene. Where Aelin had issues with female demi-fae checking out Rowan. The possessiveness....

Personally, I think that true/real (whatever ya wanna call it) love begins with loyalty and friendship.
Chaol has never exactly put her first.
He never really will. It will always be Dorian or his country.
Again, there was nothing steamy between Aelin and Rowan, seriously. Look at how they talk to each other. The things they notice about each other. Their closeness.
Aelin definitely grew in this book.
She reminded me of a horny teen. She got Dorian, kissed him, then went off to Choal. Now, I'm not denying that she have ever loved him. She did. But that was Celaena. Not Aelin.
Not that I had an issue with that. I LOVED how she didn't just love one person, but many. She definitely grew throughout the books; from a lost teen girl, to a killer queen. Literally.
Idk. I really wish it would be Rowan.
But if it's Choal... whatever.
Life will go on.

Because she KNEW he would understand and accept her.
I think that if she told Chaol. He'd only sympathise, but not fully understand what she went though and why she couldn't embrace her true identity, other than for obvious reasons.
Basically: Aelin needs someone who is not only supportive and understanding, but someone who matches her in strength, emotion, and mind,
Lastly:
Rowan and Manon? Another feeling.... but I'm reallllllyyyy hoping that it won't be the case.
However, those two would kick such ass.
Peeta don't lose hope!!!!! Author's usually give into the biggest shipping! Rowan has to get out the friend zone and he will have a chance to in the book after the Queen of Shadows!!! Choal is dead meat in my eyes he is not strong enough to be with aelin and forced love isn't real love. Thanks for voting and in my rule book that still counts for rowan+aelin. Tell me if I'm wrong.

I enjoyed Heir of Fire so much because Aelin was alone. I prefer them NOT in a romantic relationship. I prefer her alone and it's best she stays that way until this war with the king is over beceause I don't want her to hurt from losing anyone just because the King will definitely target someone she loves, just like they did Sam.

Thank you Misaki!! I can always rely on you for support when it comes to our shipping. I hope beyond hope that she chooses rowan! My sister checked on tumbler and here are the sad results = choal- 70 percent, Aedion-20 percent, Rowan 9 percent, Dorian 1 percent. A deserter who only pity's himself and a loving stalker is beating us!(No offense Aedion and I meant every word about choal) If anything this the best time to preach rowan+aelin shippers!!!!! Sorry for the poor rant but Rowan and Aelin have been through way to much pain and they are the only ones who can truly understand each other that well. Also people please vote!!! Aside from the face value of Celaena's conscious thoughts, much has transpired between Aelin and Ronan in the third installment. It was a build-up, leading them to something more than where they began. Neither Ronan and Aelin are entirely aware yet. We have yet to see Ronan's POV in Queen of Shadows, which in itself will be a delight.
All this speculation is certainly exciting to partake in! It's marvelous that we are merely halfway through this six-book journey, and to think there is much more that will happen to our beloved characters.
Regarding Rowan's storyline, it was pleasant news when Sarah J. Maas mentioned that it's possible for fae to have more than one mate.
Beyond that, we must remember that mate is not synonymous with carranaam, which Aelin and Rowan are. That itself is phenomenal.
Regardless, it is a given that Rowan will play a pivotal role in Celaena's endeavors to turn the tide. By the end of the Throne of Glass series, it is doubtless that he will go down as an unforgettable warrior.
