R4: Attack of the Anns & Dex Heads (14)
wow - we're good. I believe we're all in with time to spare!Kristin let me know if you want to roll since this could potentially be the last week if some teams get high rolls - us included! If not, I'd be available.

No pressure JoAnne, but I'd hate to mess with our good roll juju by switching things up! Even if you roll a 2, I'd probably roll an error! Ha!
Okay I will plan on rolling - no jinxing by saying I could roll a 2 - we need a 9 or better for a chance to win~Anyone notice how we are much more talkative as a team? Over 700 posts while others are less than 200!
Hilarious!! I've been on a team at the other end if the spectrum so I totally appreciate the chatter!
Kristin ~ Experiment in Terror Junkie wrote: "Hilarious!! I've been on a team at the other end if the spectrum so I totally appreciate the chatter!"I like it too. Gives us more team spirit.
I noticed our comments the other day. It's pretty high for a team lol. It makes it a lot more fun :)
Jenne wrote: "I noticed our comments the other day. It's pretty high for a team lol. It makes it a lot more fun :)"I agree it does!
Week 12 - Rolled 6 + 4 = 10 for space 102Read book 1 or 2 in a series or a standalone
Alternate = Cover C
Happy choosing and reading all. We have a chance to win -just have to be the first team to finish but even if we're not first I'd like to finish the challenge.
Will choose my book in the morning and read as soon as I get home from work tomorrow or before work if we have a delay - it's snowing again!
Great roll! We've got several teams that can win. I'm gonna go take a quick look and find a shortie :)
I'll read a first in a series too!
The Girls of Mischief Bay (Mischief Bay #1) by Susan Mallery She's one of my favorite authors!

more snow here and it's still coming down but we only have a delay
our street has been plowed once in the middle of the road and of course our plow guy hasn't come yet since it's still snowing
should be a very interesting day - NOT!
Ugh! That doesn't sound joyous at all - Be safe! At least there will be the weekend for u after you get thru today.

Kristin ~ Experiment in Terror Junkie wrote: "What's the snow total?"supposed to get another 3 inches and end around noon
looks like we have that already
overnight tonight windchill could go to -15 degrees with single digit temps
JoAnne wrote: "Yes, it is!"Great! I'll start it on my lunch hour then! I should be able to finish it today, but it probably won't be till later tonight since after my lunch hour, the next time I'll get a chance to read will be whenever I'm able to get the little one to fall asleep, which has been a trial lately lol.

Review:
While I mostly enjoyed this book, I have to say the series still hasn't totally grabbed me and sucked me in yet. Although I can't complain about the start of the book as it begins with Riley waking up naked in a strange place, needing to escape from her captures, and finds herself being contained along with other shifters, including a mighty fine new love interest, Kade. (Kade, the horse-shifter, who is apparently hung like one.) ;) There's plenty of action and I found the plot interesting since it involves cross-species-breeding/gene mutations. This was a new topic from the first series, but did continue on with the same story as far as whether Riley wants to become a Guardian ('killer') like her brother or not. Riley, a highly sexual were-shifter, has many love interests and makes no apologies for being who she is ~ and I like that about her. One of them is Quinn, the vampire, who does take issue with Riley's promiscuity as he is very old and very old-fashion about these things. Because sex plays such an importance in the were-shifter world, Quinn is having a hard time accepting Riley's shifter side and her need to 'venture' out on her own at times. OK, so the book has steamy sex, fast pace and interesting plot... so.... why hasn't it grabbed me? I think there just hasn't been enough character development yet and I haven't been able to really connect with any of the characters. For me, this is hugely important as it is what makes me really care about what's going to happen next. I'll continue on with the series though as I'm two books in and am hoping there will be more substance to the characters in the upcoming books.

This was ok, not great not horrible. I did like the characters so I'll try book 2. This one just had a case of "first book syndrome". The narrator was very good though. For a YA it didn't read like a YA for the most part. I do get tired of vamp politics in books and that might of tainted my interest some.
I haven't seen Suzanne on here yet today so I'm going to message her to make sure she knows we're on the home stretch to the finish line!
Sounds good JoAnne - You're moving & groovin! :)We'll see what Jenne says about the free pass - I didn't think you could use it for the "win" but what do I know????
I sent a message to Suzanne but haven't heard back yet. Hoping she checks in soon just so we know we're on the last mad dash to the finish line!
lol no! Everyone is evened out at 5 but one team has 4. One team needs only 1 more review now. Has anyone heard from Suzanne?
Week 12; Spot 102; Read book 1 in a series
The Girls of Mischief Bay (Mischief Bay #1) by Susan MalleryRating: 4stars

Review: Susan Mallery is one of my favorite authors and I love, love, love her books whether series or stand alones. I was very much looking forward to reading this book since it's the start of her new series and she tells us in her letter to readers in the front of the book that she hopes it's the start of a long-running series. All I can say is me, too!
I loved being introduced to Mischief Bay which is located in California. The girls are Nicole, Shannon and Pam who are friends. They confide in each other and are there for each other and to offer support or a shoulder to lean on when needed. We meet their families, see them in their work and home environments as we get to know them. The interactions showed us their dynamics and what's important to each of them.
A heartwarming tale of friendship. I look forward to reading many more books in the series.

LOL! I knew there were some that fell off during the holidays but figured everyone was around the 4/5 mark!
I went ahead and filled all of the spots up a few weeks ago. Hated to with it being so close to the end but wanted it as even as possible for the win.
Kristin ~ Experiment in Terror Junkie wrote: "Awesome JoAnne! Got your review linked up! 3/5 Reviews in!
WOOO-HOOOOOOOO!!!!!"
Thanks!
Ok so I accidentally fell asleep while reading last night. I guess that will happen when you have a 4 month old who's waking up every hour at night lol. I'm going to try to finish my book in the next couple hours.
True!! I haven't heard from Suzanne yet anyway so I'm not sure if she knows what we rolled or has started anything.
