I am sorry that you didn't like your book. I have that one on my TBR and have heard several mixed reviews."
I guess if you don't have anything against the characters it's an alright book. I've also often happened on books that others have hated, but I really liked :)
Ezi - Oh ok. Sometimes that's nice, but it all depends on the book. Mostly I think it helps with a little romance though.

Review:This is one of my favorite books in the series so far. It started off a little slow, but Malkom is such an endearing demon as he struggles to understand his Mate Carrow. And Carrow was less annoying than some other female characters in this series.

I'm not crazy about my roll, however. P and O authors are not too plentiful on my TBR.

You can read 1st, 4th or 14th. and for the week 2,
1st, 2nd or 21st in a series for week 3. That's a lot of choices with 1st in series, no?

Book: Louisiana Longshot by Jana Deleon #1 in a series
Finished: 11/27/14
Rated: ★★★★
Review:
With a leak at the CIA and a price on her head. Fortune has to go off grid for a while and she's placed in the small town of Sinful - Louisiana. Her first thought of going there was that it was going to be a boring and slow summer, but no sooner had she stepped into the town before she's thrown into a murder investigation.
This was a light and funny read. I loved the tone of the book and thought the mystery was very interesting and different. I loved that the town was more or less run by a couple of old ladies, under the nose of the deputy. I have to say that I hadn't guessed the outcome of the mystery, but had some parts right. I'll definitely read on with this series at some point.

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Went to see Mockinjay yesterday for the birthday girl. Loved it!! Anyone else seen it?

I think I might wait for MJ2. I don't like cliffhanger movies. But I might not be able to hold out. I love Peeta

What a good and highly emotional read. I loved Ryan and David's story and the Secondary characters are a hoot. this is a must read but has an abuse trigger and quite a bit of angst.

God and Day rock. I enjoyed this book. I wonder what the big deal of the spoiler and the omnious hint of the 83% incident. didn't seem anything that threw me for a loop like it seemed to do for a lot of people.

My mom came with us as well as my husband. They've never read the books but they had seen the previous movies. I only read #1 and #2. When that scene happened, we all screamed. And people on the front row of the theatre were completely freaked.

And great job, Roger!

Week 2: Spot 14
Book: Highland Warrior (Campbell Trilogy, Book #1)
Read: 11/29/14
Rating & Review: ★★★★
Jamie Campbell is a man caught between two worlds. He is a highlander by birth, but he is his cousin's (the King) enforcer bringing outlaw highlanders to justice. So he is caught between the scots and the english.
When he goes to investigate clan Lamont, who is supposedly harboring an outlaw, he falls in love with Caitrina, the cheiftain's daughter. She forces him to see that the law isn't so black and white and he has to make a choice about love and duty.
Both Jamie and Caitrina were stubborn and loyal, it worked in their favor is certain circumstances, and against them in others. They had to work hard to put their love first against the expectations of the clan. It wasn't easy and they made a lot of mistakes, but they were fun to follow. It was entertaining and I look forward to book 2

Book: Forged In Ash (Red Hot Seals, Book #2)
Read: 11/29/14
Rating & Review: ★★★½.
At first, this book seemed like it was about Kait Winchester and Navy SEAL Lieutenant Marcus “Cosky” Simcosky, and their avoidance of the heat between them. But there were 2 other storylines (couples) getting a good deal of attention, Jillian & Wolf and Mac and Amy.
This story was enjoyable but I was also reading KGI and The Ghostwalkers---and it didn't measure up to them (as least the writing wasn't as good).

Review:
Number four in this beautiful series starts out very slow. But as the story of Zoe unfolds, we learn so much of what life in the shire is like. She is not terribly likeable at first, but about midway through I became totally engrossed in the story. Rhys Langford is the star even though through most of the book he is a shadow in her life. The prose, is as always beautiful, and though many questions are left unanswered and even hanging, it was still a beautiful book to read. My biggest complaint would be that it felt more like a way station on the way to someplace, than an actual stop. It feels almost like the rest of the story stopped so that we could visit this one. I kept wondering what was going on in the rest of the world while she hunted for Rhys and for her fiance'. Hopefully these mysteries will be solved in the next one.

Completed 11/28/14 4 stars

This is the first in a series. Cameron Lynde, Assistant Attorney, happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. Witnessing a call girl's murder put her in the path of FBI agent Jack Pallas. Pallas and Cameron had a run in three years ago and neither were looking forward to working with the other.
This was a fast paced and fun read. The narrator was outstanding, and I really liked how she was able to inflict her voice based on different characters. Definitely a series I will continue.

This is the second book in the series. I am really enjoying listening to this series on Audible. The narrator is very good. While I enjoy wine and the heroine owns a wine store, it was just a little much. I can say that I did learn quite a bit about wine that I could never afford $1,200 a bottle - not in my lifetime!
I am looking forward to reading/listening the rest of this series. I also plan on checking out other books by this narrator.

Anita, do you know what your book for Week 3 is yet?

Book: The Calling by Kelley Armstrong #2 Darkness Rising
Finished: 12/03/14
Rated: ★★★★★
Review:
Maya Delaney is a skin-walker. She can run faster, climb faster and see and hear better than almost anyone. Maya and some of her friends were forced to leave their homes during a forest fire, then they're kidnapped and after surviving a helicopter crash, they find themselves in the wilderness of Vancouver island and they can't trust anyone, as they all want to use them for a medical experiment.
I really enjoy the universe Kelley has created with first 'The Darkest Powers' series and now the 'Darkness Rising' series. The characters are all believable, and it seems there are no boring moments as they are on the run. I think Maya as a character develops quite a lot in this book, and I liked reading about her experience as she started turning into the mountain lion, which hadn't happened prior to this book. I'm really looking forward to reading the last book.

Ezi - I have always steered clear of Anita Blake because of some of what I've heard, but I've also been curious.
I'm on the last two books in the In Death series. I have been reading 1 a month for the past two years here on GR. And I have to say except for a few books here and there, it has kept my interest and remained strong. Pretty incredible. Roarke is the closest thing to a "book boyfriend" that I would claim. I am kind of obsessed with him.
I will get my book finished some time today (fingers crossed!!) and then roll.
Great job Team!!!
