R4: SS Twice the Fun (2)

I'm about 60% done and went with Dex in Blue - I'm waiting for the characters to implode....angst and melodrama to start soon I think. It always does with this author. Her characters are so good though :)

#2 in a series

I enjoyed this one so much more than book 1 of this series. This is David/Dex's story. David has only 2 hrs with his first love before he is ripped from his life. Waking up in the hospital realizing his family will never understand what he is dealing with he runs to Sacramento for College and gets involved at Johnnies which is a gay for pay porn video filming company.
Carlos/Kane - has decided he is too stupid for school and is tired of 'giving away' sex for free to girls that don't care about him. This is how he gets involved at Johnnies.
You totally fall in love with Dex - he is the guy that every one wants as his friend. He is the big papa bear type that takes care of all of his friends. Watching Kane and Dex realize that they are falling for each other was so sweet. Of course, don't get me wrong - their is angst and animosity in here as well. I have yet to meet an Amy Lane book that doesn't have loads of angst and people you just want to smack upside the head (Dex's family....Kane's family....Scott (douchebag) ) . You get a little bit of a repeat of all of Chase and Tommy's drama in this one but just really a glimpse thankfully.

I'm also very excited because I figured out how to link your reviews to the review post I made :) Yay!!! I'm somewhat computer illiterate so this is a huge accomplishment :) Yay...

Nice job - hope it wasn't too much of a pain

I'm glad - the first time I tried to do this - I screwed it up. My DH lovingly calls me a "tech spaz"

I was surprised how much I liked this book. Only problem at first was is that is written in present tense. It took me some time to get used to it.
It took me some time to figure out who've done it. there are so many characters and at one point most of them ended up on my suspect list. Yes, the real killer was on it too, but to be honest, he was somewhere near the bottom of it.
And you learn some things about archeology.

If you plan on reading next one in series, I'd recommend keeping

Well crap - really - I cried and was angry through the first one of this series - way too emotional. It's why I waited so long for the second one. Don't get me wrong I enjoy Amy Lane - loved her Promises series but they are always sad.
>>Thanks for the heads up. I'll be prepared. I want this to be one of the series that I complete for my year of FWYS.

I actually DNFed first one. Guy (Chase?) was too annoying. With Dex/Kane I had plenty of eye-rolling, but Ethan was breaking my heart on almost every page.
I just saw she has next one coming out in January.

Yep - Chase drove me nuts - totally nuts - holy crap - what a pain in the ass he was - IMHO.

Book: Christmas Letters

Stand Alone book
Date Read: 11-19-14
Rating: 4 Stars
Review:
Well I have always like Debbie Macomber books. This book in particular was a very sweet romance book about finding love when you least expect it during Christmas. I really enjoyed this book, I enjoyed the love that blossomed between Wynn and Katherine aka K.O.. I also loved the references to some of Debbie Macomber's Blossom Street series throughout the book. There were also things that bothered me about the books as well. For example: Zelda( K.O.'s sister ) seemed very very selfish and that bothered me a ton. Also that people called Katherine K.O., I found myself reading Katherine instead of K.O. The book like romance books are kinda predictable but it was still a very charming and sweet romance/holiday read.
I've included the Summary of the books as well from Goodreads:
Katherine O'Connor often spends her days at a cozy cafe on Blossom Street in Seattle--where she writes Christmas letters for other people. She's good at making their everyday lives sound more interesting. More humorous. More dramatic.
But for Dr. Wynn Jeffries, who also frequents the cafe, Christmas means lies and deception. In fact, the renowned child psychologist recommends that parents "bury Santa under the sleigh." Katherine, however, feels that his parenting philosophy is one big mistake--at least, based on her five-year-old twin nieces, who are being raised according to his "Free Child" methods.
She argues with Wynn about his theories, while he argues that her letters are nothing but lies. They disagree about practically everything--and yet, somehow, they don't really want to stop arguing.
As the days--and nights--move closer to Christmas, Katherine and Wynn both discover that love means accepting your differences. And Christmas is about the things you share....

Check with Jenne.
Maybe if someone here is librarian, can check date when the change was made. I think they have log on those.

Oh, and you also have whole Friday to finish if needed. Roll has to be done on Friday. It doesn't say it needs to be midnight Thu/Fri. So you have until 11:59pm on Friday :D

Yes we can't roll until all reviews are in. And yes, roll starts at midnight Thu/Fri, but you can roll anytime Friday after reviews are in. It doesn't say you have to roll at midnight. It's just you can't roll before it.
You can still finish reading and post your review on Friday and then roll as long as you do it before midnight Fri/Sat.

I really liked the book. I went into it thinking the plot will probably suck and it'll mostly be sex, boy was I wrong. I love Christian and I love how sincere is in. Anastasia is such a pain but you can't help but love her too. Definitely can't wait for the second one!

So make sure you check a browser to make sure it's not part of a series!! Lol

Ive never read a paranormal book before but since this book won the goodreads choice awards last year I figured why not! I was not disappointed. I loved how lettie believed that her pond was an ocean when in a way it really was. I liked the relatiknship the kids had and how the 'Flea' could control the people around her. Four stars undoubtedly.

Review: I liked this book a lot more than the first. There was more of a story line to it and I look forward to the next one.
Risa will go to any lengths to avenge her mother’s murder—even if it means making a pact with the most evil vampire she’s ever met. Lethal and powerful, Madeline Hunter is leader of the vampire council, and will put her resources behind finding the killer—for a price. The venerable vampire requires the assistance of Risa’s psychic powers. Quid pro quo.
Someone—or something—is targeting the elders of the local council, cursing the immortal vampires to rapidly age, sink into madness, and die. Risa must track down the vengeful being responsible. But Risa’s father, a rogue Aedh priest, also enlists her in a dangerous mission. And not even the great Madeline Hunter may be able to protect her from the shadowy forces that desire nothing less than Risa’s destruction.
