warriors with glowing tattoos punished and forced to guard portal keywords shadow warrior immortal

I read a series of books about (5 or 7 maybe) warriors (they weren’t a “normal” fantasy race, like vampire werewolf etc but something weird) I want to say it was fallen angel or demonic possibly. Not sure. All I can remember is something about a portal they had to guard as a punishment maybe and that there was a fight scene and one of these warriors had tattoos that glowed and out of them came his weapons, I believe they called them Fae blades. I don’t know. His tattoos glowed blue and became a weapon. I really think I read them in a box set. Googling “shadow” “immortal” and “warrior” just keep taking me to the same two or three series which aren’t what I’m looking for.

Pretty sure it was in kindle unlimited that I read it. Any help is appreciated.
