Sam The book itself isn't bad, the series is very long winded, you keep waiting for something exciting to happen but it never does, and the characters are kinda annoying.

Abigail I like it, alot... Why dont u like it?

Minda~Quenn {Somehow I found a way to get lost in you} Abigail wrote: "I like it, alot... Why dont u like it?"

I like it as well.

Abigail K, good to kno people are on my side. Lol

Lizzie totally agree with you. This book made me sleepy

Abigail What?/ U didnt like the book?? It bored you??!!!!! 0.0

Abigail wait?? why do you think that???

jennifer i liked it ._.

Kayla Evans (Scooby Doo) I read this book and I hated it. I read the second one hoping it would be better but it wasn't.

Abigail I really feel tht it was really really good, i didnt find it boring at all, lol

we obviously have very different opinions about this book but I felt it could have had more drama. it just felt like I could have been better.

janet I DIDN'T LIKE IT OR HATE IT! I'LL GO BACK TO THE NEXT BOOK WHEN I RUN OUT OF THINGS TO READ! but my to read list is about a mile long so that might not happen.....

Demetrist Wallace It was ok...I think it needed more background or details...

Ailie Wallace I get that not everyone likes this book, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I, personally, liked it, and there was something about the plot that appealed to me. Why exactly didn't y'all like it?
Also, tbh, I don't see the point of starting a discussion just so you can say that this book is terrible. It's just like spreading negativity or whatever, and, imagine how the author would feel if she saw it?
I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, just sharing my opinion.
Feel free to tell me what you didn't like about the book, cos I loved it. Which might make me a little biased, sorry.

Celest It was alright, though not enough to convince me to keep going with this book. It was just okay, not really mind-blowing, or led me on a roller-coaster of emotions.

Book Dragon it was frustrating and annoying but an ok book. would not go back and read it again and am in no hurry to finish the series

Georgia Willis i loved these books, I liked the fact that you couldn't guess the plot and it strung out a bit, its what made me continue reading. I suppose I could see how you could be frustrated at such a book if you didn't necessarily understand the plot and symbolism behind each character, if you weren't thorough enough to understand, then you probably wont enjoy it, and it is the wrong genre for you.

message 18: by K (new) - rated it 1 star

K I didn't mind this book... but the rest of them was utter cat shit. Ever is stupid, and very fucking annoying.

message 19: by Britt (new) - rated it 1 star

Britt I do not recommend this book....it is very long and drawn out and gets boring after a while. The characters really aren't so bad, its just a bad story line sadly.

Enchanting Dream I absolutely loved this book, and the whole series. It was the first YA series I read and will always stay in my heart.I loved the characters, their stories and the whole book plot.I don't know how for some it was 'boring' as I found it full of surprises and new things happening in each book.I know everyone has their own opinions,so I'm not saying if you hate this book then you're stupid or something,I absolutely respect everyone's opinions.I just love this book so much and each book after it :).I recommended this series to a friend and she became obsessed with the series, like I am ;).I'm going to re-read this series again at one point to feel all those emotions all over again :).

message 22: by Tori (last edited Dec 31, 2014 11:25AM) (new) - rated it 1 star

Tori Clare I thought it was awful. The plot was dull and unconvincing. The writing was average. It was a rip-off of Twilight. Blue Moon very different to New Moon - not. No originality at all. Everywhere I go, I see this series, which is expressly why it's so popular - because it's everywhere! Read the first one a few years ago for research purposes into the YA genre, because, at the time, I was writing a YA book myself. Was acutely disappointed and bored. I may have enjoyed the series when I was younger - hard to say, but with my perspective now, it was poor. Not to mention that the name Ever got right on my nerves from the outset. Apologies if your name is Ever, but I think I'm safe!

Enchanting Dream Evermore isn't anything like Twilight. There aren't two guys the girl is deciding against, one of them isn't a stalker and doesn't hurt her.Sure there is Jude after the first few books, but that's later. Also she doesn't get married, then gets a child. And sure Blue Moon and New Moon are alike, but aren't alot of book titles nearly the same? And I don't find the writing average,it's actually really good.Atleast,in my opinion it is good.I respect your opinion though. It's just that I am in love with this series, and so am just a little bit biased :p

That's fine. I respect yours too. It wouldn't do if we were all the same. Many books after Twilight attempted to give readers the same 'high'. Paranormal suspense was being churned out by the bucket load. Everyone wanted the same success as Stephenie Meyer. In my opinion, Twilight was unique and couldn't be replicated. Of course, I have a few issues with Twilight too, but I can unreservedly say that I enjoyed the series and thought that the concept was a good one. It kept me hooked. After Twilight, I tried Fallen by Lauren Kate. I stumbled through the first book and thought that it was exceedingly dull. Next, I tried Cassandra Clare's City of Bones. Couldn't get past the first few chapters. There is something about Stephenie's Meyer's writing that at least has some sincerity. She caused a stir. Her books were compared to JK Rowling's books, which is a joke, but she quite rightly sent ripples through the literary world. She came up with something new. Publishers wanted paranormal suspense because there was a demand. Writers provided it. 50 Shades (though I refuse to read it) made a stash of money on the back of Meyer's success. Of course it's nothing like the same story, because it's twisted.

If you enjoyed the books, then that's wonderful. It's why writers work so very hard - to have readers fall in love with their work. I haven't fallen in love since I read Me Before You and I miss being in love. It takes me ages to find a great story.

message 25: by Enchanting (last edited Jan 01, 2015 03:27AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Enchanting Dream Yeah I agree, there are a lot of books that are Paranormal, but that doesn't mean they're all the same.I absolutely love Paranormal books,I also love fantasy and romance. So reading lots of Paranormal books, there are some similarities, but it's still not the same. For instance, nearly all of the books I have read(actually all) are not about vampires.I recently(for Christmas) just got the book Shiver. It's about werewolves,I know as I read the first 50 or so pages before I got it,to see if I'd like it.And I did,I read all of the sample, which, like I said was about 50 or so pages. But I got to say,it's more realistic than Twilight.I haven't read Fallen, but I have read City of Bones, and I have to say,I didn't really like the first few chapters of the book, but I pushed myself to read it,and I actually enjoyed it alot :).I wouldn't really say that it's like Twilight,at all,or that the writing is bad.

I totally respect your opinions though.I don't judge people.Everyone has their own opinions :).And I am thankful to all of the authors of my favourite books because they really make me happy, and fall in love with the books they write :).

Well said, Enchanting (for want of knowing your name!). As I writer, I look at books very differently now than I did when I was just a reader. I can't help it. I can't help analysing and seeing the technical merits or lack of them, the character arcs, the plot, ending, relationships etc. It's a curse!! It ruins the pleasure for me unless the book I'm reading is actually outstanding - then I'm in awe!

What I found to be the same as Twilight about Evermore, was the attempt at mimicking Meyer's writer's voice, which is impossible to do really. It would be like us trying to copy one another's handwriting. Most of the books which followed Twilight tried to latch on to the same readership and were written in first person and attempted to duplicate Meyer's voice, even if the stories were very different. From memory, whole sentences were exactly the same in Evermore. For eg, 'I had to remember to breathe.' You can correct me if I'm wrong because it's many years since I flicked through Evermore. In Twilight, we accepted that Bella was struggling to breathe every time Edward came within ten metres of her (lol), and that the scent of his breath and armpits acted like a virtual drug and had her swooning and fainting. I'm exaggerating, of course, but you get the picture. It was kind of sweet, especially because she was innocent. But to pick up another book by another author and read the same sentences was too much for me.

When I'm reading a new author, I expect something different. What I'm looking for most is a unique voice - that intriguing way that the author uses to tell that particular story. And I want variety. To me, this is what fiction is all about. I can read happily about any story, any topic, as long as it's written well and isn't just an attempt to jump on a bandwagon to make money. I think we're all done with vampires now.

I don't judge people either. GR is just a great way to meet people and share opinions and thrash out ideas, respectfully of course. I'm looking for a great read at the moment, and envy that you've fallen in love!!! Wish I could find something. I'm v picky, that's my problem ;-)

message 27: by Enchanting (last edited Jan 01, 2015 09:28AM) (new) - rated it 5 stars

Enchanting Dream Thank you :).I'm currently writing a story, two actually. And I'm hoping to get one book published one day :).I hope I do,but maybe I won't,I don't know,I'll have to see where life takes me :).It's about wolves(werewolves),since I just absolutely love wolves and am so fascinated with them :).

I can't really recall Ever saying that sentence, but maybe she has said it,(I can't really remember, although I think she did possibly :) ).Alot of authors might write something that is similar to another, since there are so much books,it's sometimes not really possible to say something that doesn't sound some what alike :)

I honestly haven't read Twilight yet,but I have watched all the movies.I have heard some things from the book, but since I haven't read it all,I don't know all of the story(from the book). From what I know so far,Bella just seems sort of....don't know what to say but-stupid?If a person told you that they were a vampire, wouldn't you be afraid?Or atleast a little? Then Edward watches her sleep, and she's fine with that.Ok...so you like stalkers..hmmm.And from what I heard,Edward continually hurts her physically(accidents or not),and she is still with him.I would honestly run away from that guy, move somewhere else or call the cops.To me,in the movies,Edward seems like a complete stalker, and basically just a psychopath. Also, what vampire sparkles in the sun???I honestly laugh each time when I watch Edward sparkle in the sun in the movies.I watched the movies before The Vampire Diaries(I'm obsessed with The Vampire Diaries now ;) ),that TV show,is way more realistic than Twilight. The girl actually freaks out that the guy is a vampire, and runs away from him.Later though, she accepts it.In the TV show, there is a part where one of the main characters pick up the Twilight book, and a friend(that knows he is a vampire) asks "So do vampires actually sparkle in the sun?" and the other person just laughs.I don't find Twilight realistic at all,I hope the books are good as I'm going to read them soon.

So far, from what I heard,it's not like Evermore,I'm not saying that there aren't any similarities though. And I'm not trying to be hateful to the Twilight series, but from what I've heard,I don't even really want to open the book,as all I've heard is negative things.Afterall Twilight has alot of 1 star ratings.I looked the ratings up,and the average is 3.56 for Twilight and 3.59 for Evermore. So apparently Evermore has just a little bit better ratings.Evermore has less 5 star ratings than Twilight, but Twilight has a hell alot of 1 star ratings. From the percentages,1 star ratings for Evermore is 7%,and for Twilight its 12%.So Evermore is somewhat good.
(You can find these percentages in the rating details,on the line of the average rating on the page of the book,if you don't believe me
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4...
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...)

I'm really not trying to be hateful towards the Twilight series, but I just find some things really nerve recking.Like the fact that the vampires sparkle(which is honestly hilarious) and that Bella is ok with all the bad things Edward does to her.I guess we'll just have to wait until I read the books :).

Don't think I don't have some things that I don't like about Evermore either, but I do like love Evermore still :).

And I also look for different ways in writing and different stories when I pick out books, but for me,all of the books I've read, don't seem to be a copy of another(from what I've read).

I like listening to other people's opinions all the time,it just shows that everyone is different in this world :)).I couldn't agree more that Goodreads is a great way to meet people, and share opinions :).
And I really hope you'll find a book that you'll fall in love with :)).

Ha ha! Thank you. The search goes on. I found the Twilight books much better than the films. The films were a bit cheesy to say the least, but they did a good job of the very last one. They had to change the ending, because the book ending was - quite frankly - lame. So the film was better at the very end. I was disappointed with the 4th book. Still, go ahead and read them. Nothing to lose. And good luck with your writing. Writing is very hard, but it's great fun ;-)

Enchanting Dream No problem ^-^.I watched the films, and I got to say,the first one made me feel..awkward.I just couldn't sit there and watch Edward like that xD.I really liked the last one alot, and it is probably my favourite out of all 4 of them :)
I'll read them at one point,I was going to in the next 2 months or so as the books are just sitting there on my shelf ;).Thank you once again ^-^.For me,so far it is hard, but I find it fun ^-^.

I started reading the series, but I couldn't finish it. It's kind of like the stereotypical Twilight series. I haven't read Twilight, but I know the stereotypes. Please no hate, I'm just giving my opinion.

Ashli Barrera THIS BOOK IS FU#%*NG AWESOME WHATS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE. sure the series could have been shorter but whats not to like!!!!????

message 32: by K (new) - rated it 1 star

K It was literally a waste of time. And was really boring. Ever is such an annoying bitch. That, and many more reasons is why we didn't like it.

Dominique I started reading this series but after the second book ended I was very mad at that the author did. I have the next 2 books in the series and they are just staring at me. I am torn between reading to find out if everything turns out ok and still being mad at what happened. I finished the second book almost a year ago and I am still felling the same way...

I honestly think that you should read the rest of the series because 1.It's actually a good series, the rest of the books have so much happening in them and are so interesting, and 2.It's better that you finish them since it's a series and it's actually really good.Dark Flame(the 4th book) is probably my favourite out of all the series. It's just so good and so much happens...

Phantomº I liked the first 2 books .... but after that.... oh gosh I wanted to rip Ever's head off! I was totally mad with her! She is sooooo anoying... I read the 3rd book nd then i stopped... I couldn't bear it any more...... one of the worst series for me

Jessica I loved the series. Its one of my top five series that I can read over and over again. Granted I havent read the last book although I have it but I think its still a good series...better than some. I dont see how people say its like the Twilight saga. Thats just my opinion though. Have a good weekend :)

message 44: by Taryn (new) - added it

Taryn Sorry, OP, I have to disagree. Although it's been a few years since I read it, I enjoyed Evermore. The rest of the books in the series, on the other hand? No, they're horrible. Reading Evermore as a standalone book is good enough without the dragged out BS of the sequels.

message 45: by Anna (new) - rated it 2 stars

Anna I actually enjoyed Evermore, but not the rest of the books. I absolutely hate the main character, she always make these stupid choices and trust the wrong people.

Well, actually the only character I actually liked was Jude. Until *spoiler alert* he killed Roman, cause I was starting to like Roman when he started to be nice instead. I'm still wondering whether I should read the last book or not.

message 46: by Taryn (new) - added it

Taryn Roman was the most interesting character in the series. Sad when an author makes the villain more appealing than the heroes.

PinkPepper I liked this book a lot. why don't u like it?

Phantomº The first 2 book are really nice but after that it's a big downhill for me .. Ever is really anoying and i wanted her to be killed ..... nope this series is not for me

message 49: by [deleted user] (last edited May 28, 2015 05:02PM) (new)

I couldn't finish it. I felt the writing style was lacking a lot and the characters, especially Ever's love interest, appeared to be flawless from my perspective. The plotline wasn't interesting for me either, and I felt like the whole jizz was anything but original with its talk of seemingly nothing BUT immortality. The whole concept just didn't work out for me. :/

message 50: by Sara (new) - rated it 3 stars

Sara A Tbh this series wasn't the best. Like some people have said, its really slow and not much happens. But If I had time I would read it again :)
