Halfway through this book! I am determined to finish it tonight or tomorrow now that I have time off from work!!! I really should get the next couple lined up from the library before I forget.

So... I'm reading so fast I can't remember everything I wanted to touch on but I do know, I adore Carter! He is so sweet and bumbling and cute and adorable. I love the scenes between him and Bob!! Hilarious stuff. I also like it when Carter talks to himself and berates himself for his internal ramblings, haha. There were a lot of funny lines in one of his scenes but I can't remember them right now. I will come post about them later, when I get a moment! For now, back to this book.

Finished ! Rated it 4 stars. I loved it. I really liked all of the characters, other than of course Mac's mom but even she ended up not being as bad as I'd anticipated. Or I guess not as annoying as I'd expected.

There were so many funny parts in this! Like Bob helping Carter, and when Carter was talking to his cat about Mac, haha. So cute. That Carter! What a sweetie he is!!

Nora can really write love stories. Sure, it's a lot of wish fulfillment, but come on, aren't most romance novels?? Why else would we read them?? (Those who read them, that is). She's a terrific writer, with a real talent for character creation, scene setting and description/metaphor. I mean, she compared pillows and throw blankets on a chair to rocks and river! I'm always amazed when people bash her writing.

There are a lot of parts I wanted to touch on but I have a lot of things I need to take care of so I'll do that when I get a moment.

I'll be continuing the series but not sure when. Soon I hope!

Started Bed of Roses last night and am already up to Chapter 8. Loving it so far. I accidentally requested the large print copy of the book from the library, so it's very easy on my eyes, but boy do all the extra pages make it a heavy book lol

Bed of Roses

You know what I love/hate about series? When you love the first book and then you start reading the second book and you love that one even more! That's what happened here with Bed of Roses. I LOVED Mac and Carter in Vision in White and couldn't even imagine loving any of the other relationships as much, but I could not put Bed of Roses down.

(view spoiler)[ I love how much of a romantic Emma is. I love that she's always had her dream in the back of her mind about dancing in the moonlight with her man and I teared up when she finally dreamed the dream and had a face to go along with the man!

I absolutely loved Jack. He didn't have one mean bone in his body, which is weird for me, because I'm usually wanting the bad boys. He is the absolute perfect guy for Emma. I love how their friendship continued to grow as they learned more little things about each other, and their flirtations and their honest talks with each other.

I could see the fear growing in Jack during the last Poker Night and knew that his feelings would have an impact on their relationship so of course I knew, as Emma did, that her getting the key from his assistant was going to the catalyst for a blowup. But I also recognize that they needed that angst so they could fight their way back to being together.

And yes, I'll admit that I had big ugly tears at the end when Emma got her real dance with her prince! (hide spoiler)]

I'm putting book 3 on hold at the library right now but I'll have to admit I'm torn between being scared that it will make me love a couple more than I love Emma and Jack or that it'll fall flat for me in comparison to Emma and Jack.

Chapters 4 - 10 (view spoiler)[I like how Parker handle Carter's sister by making her feel involved in rehearsal dinner, She is a big downer so she definitely needs some happy in her life. I really like how Mal outright told her about the bet before she got on the bike and that he excepts that she needs to take phone calls even through dinner. Also I like that he came right out and told Del what he was doing with her and that if he ever hurts her he would let Del kick his ass. (hide spoiler)]

I finished (view spoiler)[I love how Parker arranged for Mac's Dad to be at her wedding, Hated her mum being there but glad she didn't do anything to bad. Love that they added the little blue butterfly to the bouquet, cake and garter. I like how Parker and Mal relationship progressed, yes there were fights but they got through them, loved that he bought her shoes as an I'm sorry gift. I loved that at the end they wedding dress party and the dress for Parker was her mum's that's so special. (hide spoiler)]

Prologue - Chap 4

(view spoiler)[This is one of my favourite books, especially because it talks about their beginning. I love the prologue, where Parker is getting ready to discuss the business opportunity with the others and they say yes, just by listening to her and without looking at the files. Love their friendship!

Crazy bride's dream was just too hilarious! Loved how Parks dealt with this situation.

Loved Mac for her shoe shopping. Gosh I am the same. I keep buying shoes and not knowing what to do with them. ;)

Ah that motorcycle ride - WOW! Loved how flustered Parks got at that moment and how their dynamics worked. Loved the kiss after dinner.. boy that was just too good!Love them both too much I guess!And the way Parks got flustered again when Laurel questioned her was just way too cute.

Also again when he returns the car and Parks is wondering why he did when she could have got it.. God that girl's got it bad! Lol. Loved Mrs. G's statement "What do you do when someone does something unexpected for you?" You rock Mrs. G! (hide spoiler)]

And the equation between Del and Mal is just too cute. Love the part where Mal says, if I hurt her, I will come to you and you can hurt me. My heart just lights up at that.

Loved when Ma K meets Parks outside the bridal dress shop and asks her to have tea. She's such a lovely lady.

And Laurel's dress! You know we don't have white dresses for our weddings, ours is more sarees or other Indian ethnic outfits, which is then overdone with the gold jewelry we have to wear during the wedding etc. Kind of kills the whole look sometimes, if you are not careful, especially the gold - By contrast, wedding gowns are simple, elegant and yet really beautiful and the fact that you can simply wear diamond studs and nothing else and get away with it, gives it a whole lot of points from me! Lol.

Of course I know that some have these elaborate gowns and hairdos but still they all look so lovely and easy to manage, could be wrong though - grass greener on the other side? Lol. (hide spoiler)]

I like simple, i'm not really a big fan of lots of jewelry. I do like the idea of a white wedding dress but I like to be different and something that I really like is to have a yellow wedding dress and have the bridesmaids in white.

It was not an easy match for Mal was just too closed but loved the way Parks dealt with that and how he accepted. Oh boy the scene where he gets shoes for her was just too sweet and when Laurel tells him her shoe size, it was hilarious!

Loved Sherry's wedding and how Carter kept getting flustered about it. Loved how Carter helped Parks in that tricky situation with Mal. He's truly a wonderful guy.

Loved and totally loved Mac and Carter's wedding. Getting her dad to be present - well Parks you rock! And the end when Parks gets her own wedding gown, which was her mother's.. aww that was really lovely! My eyes always go damp at that scene.

Although this book is about Mal and Parks and they are one of my favourite couples, I love these lines by Carter - it truly epitomizes love and I love Carter all the more for this

"When you find somebody you love, all the way through, and she loves you - even with your weaknesses, your flaws, everything starts to click into place. And if you can talk to her, and she listens, if she makes you laugh, and makes you think, makes you want, makes you see who you really are, and who you are is better, just better with her, you'd be crazy not to want to spend the rest of your life with her."

These lines I feel are the BEST in this entire series.. of course there are many more such lovely lines but this one - truly makes my heart go all gooey! (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[ Aww. I think Del is my favorite male character so far. With his wealth and his position as a lawyer he could be so pretentious and he's just not! I love how Laurel got up in Linda's face but I absolutely hate hate hate that Linda could stir up the seed of doubt that Laurel already had about her relationship with Del. Poor Del, just didn't see it coming so I loved how he tricked Emma into telling him what all happened. And the ending. AWWWWW Perfect perfect ending!!!

I've got book 4 sitting here waiting for me to jump into it, and I'm torn between wanting to devour it and see what's going to happen with Parker, and wanting to put it off so that my time with these girls doesn't end!

I smiled at the thought of watching Mal's reaction when Parker actually got on the back of his bike. And poor Del, he must have not known how to react to see his sister on the back of the motorcycle. Had he not had to deal with his friend Jack falling for Emma and he himself falling for Laurel, I imagine that there would have been a lot of ugly thoughts going through his head. (hide spoiler)]

I love that Mal's already got Mrs G's approval for her last available girl. She knows it's just a matter of time before Parker falls!!! And that kiss!! Wowzer! So glad that there was an eye witness that will won't let Parker off easy!! And I can't wait to see what Jack can do to convert the space for Del's new mancave! (hide spoiler)]

So much to love about Parker and Mal's relationship. I love that Parker is not at all pretentious as she could be, after all she is 'one of the CT Browns' (rolling my eyes at that phrase). She's one of the most practical people I've ever read about - in the end it doesn't matter where Mal came from or what he's been through (as long as he's not trying to hide it from her) it's the person he is today that matters to her!!

And Mal - I was so happy when he finally opened up to her and let her in.

Love that we got to see Mrs G. giving Parker her mom's dress. Awwww and love being able to be part of at least one of the foursome's weddings. They each deserve their own HEA and I'm thrilled that they each got theirs.

My favorite book of the series? I'm not sure I can pick. I think books 2 and 3 tip the scale for me a little bit, but truly I loved them all!!! (view spoiler)[ (hide spoiler)] (hide spoiler)]
