I think the only way is to go to your digital orders on amazon and check from the list that the books marked as gifts are also marked as claimed

Some secret Santas are using elf names, just an FYI!

iam (iamreads) | 72 comments Nooooo I was just checking the forums before going on a gifting spree, just to see that someone else already claimed the elf name I was going to use!!! And I was so proud of coming up with the pun! Though they actually elevated it even more - I salute you, Treat yo (sh)Elf! I was only planning on making it Treat Yo (s)Elf, but the shelf pun is even better!!

Now what do I use as my new elf name....

Coming up with an elf name is the hardest part! I somehow now have three different elf names that I’ve used 😂 and all of them are pretty lame

Someone actually used my elf name from last year in this exchange and I did a double take thinking I gifted something in my sleep! Ha!

My elf names always have the same theme, but I never reveal them because everyone will know it's me every year (though I'm sure some of the long-time people have an idea of who I am!). I'm terrible at guessing elf names.

I think I have 4 different names and feel the same lol. Every year, including this one, there are people who are just so clever with theirs. I must learn their ways 😂

It’s so hard! And then I think of a different name halfway through and start using that one... all the sudden I’m stuck with all these elf names! I’m not sure I’ll reveal myself this year though(except my secret Santa), I kinda like the idea of being completely anonymous

I think I’ve figured out what your elf name is, Heather but I promise I won’t give it away :)

Kimberley Alvarez (mrskalvarez213) | 15 comments Not sure this post is allowed but If so great and thanks.
Saturday, a week ago, our car broke down- we had no choice but to tow it to Toyota to get fixed. It cost us $371 to fix. Apparently the coils and spark plugs were really bad. Having to do this took away our extra money for Christmas, groceries and household items💔 Abby (2 yrs 9 months) has ASD as well severe sensory issues, and Pvl/cp (brain damage). Malachi (is 19 months) has an unknown genetic disease which causes him lots of issues. He still has to be on toddler formula. His GI doctor is actually talking about hospitalizing him.
Thanks for reading this.

I'm sorry you're having a hard time. I truly wish you are able to have a happy Christmas, though. Reading might help.

Daphne | 105 comments So this is my 5th year in the exchange and I’ve just now figured out that I could buy books from amazon and schedule their delivery for days from now!! I just sent my person their last three gifts spaced out by a day each in one fell swoop... Five years! 🤣🤣

I do that 90% of the time!

Steph ☀️ | 69 comments Hopefully this is okay to post here.....

I was gifted Checking It Twice (Crashing, #2) by Samantha Wayland , but due to how it was gifted, I cannot return and apply it to a another book on my list. I was told by Amazon, that the elf that gifted it to me, they will not receive the money back either.

They did say however, that I can gift this to someone else. So, did anyone else have this on their list that would like it? If so, I would need the email associated with your Amazon account to send :)

GIFTED

I don't get that. If you can gift it to someone else, why can't you return it? That doesn't make any sense. But then Amazon frequently doesn't make sense, I guess.

Well, I wouldn't mind having that book, I have book one. If no one else wants it, I'll take it and then gift you something else you want off your wishlist in honor of the elf that gifted it to you, if you want.

that's really strange. I return books to Amazon all the time when I get it gifted twice. When you go to accept it, it will say you already own it and there will be a little link to exchange for credit.

Well, I learned you could find out if your gifts had been delivered or not in Manage Content under Ebooks for Others.

message 229: by Daphne (new)

Daphne | 105 comments I didn’t know that either!! I’ve just relied on the email but it I’ve wondered about some that are unclaimed. I’m going to go follow up! Thanks for that info!

Yeah, and that is what I have done once before in the past. However, I was explained that since a promotional credit was used to purchase the book, it could not be returned for credit to either party. They could only forward the gift to someone else if I could provide them with an email (amazon linked). So, that was something new.

Zuzu (zuzu4141) You can also check under orders and then click on digital orders. It will say if it’s just been sent or if it has been claimed. You can also resend the email there too.

Kendra T (kendra1117) | 172 comments Hi everyone! It is the time of year for the Christmas in July exchange. Every year, I have so much fun with Heather's exchange that I decided to do one in the half-year for those of us who need some half-year cheering up. We use Elfster for the pairings. If you are interested in participating at all, you can join us over here.
Hope you are all safe and healthy.
