I have to say I honestly don’t know lol I haven’t bought an audiobook on there yet but I’m almost positive you have to listen to it through their service, I’m not sure if you can download it permanently. I primarily use audible or loan from the library if I don’t really want to buy it

Honestly, this gift exchange is one of my favorite things to participate in. The new friends are wonderful and I love adding new books to my shelf too. I really do try to give myself a limit on spending but always find I go over it lol!

Yes, everyone feel free to friend me here, if we aren't already friends!

I loooooove this exchange. I know it's mine, but I still think it's the best group of people online!

I’m loving the chit chat and seeing what everyone is getting
The elf names are hilarious. I’m going to have to up my game next year

BananaBerry (cherry78) | 34 comments Aside from how nice everyone in this exchange is (my faith in humanity is restored!), I love that it’s a chance to give back to the authors. I *believe* many of the popular mm authors earn directly from the downloads, minus Amazon’s fee? So it’s fun to gift others with those writers and show some support. And selfishly, so they can keep writing and publishing more content for me to read!

I've followed everyone, as far as I can see as well :)

If you wish to give to others you can choose someone on your friends list who is in the group or a random person in the group off the elfster list. You can click to their wish lists and choose something from there. As long as you have an email for them you should be able to send something. Although out of your country can be tricky.
As to receiving there are just elves out there who are very giving and do it for the same reasons I said you could if you wish to.

I did that last year on Smashwords, went to Smashwords again this year thinking must remember to email the thing to myself and THEN forward on the code and what did I do?
Yep, sent it direct with my blooming name on it again!

message 169: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Boyer | 12 comments I just wanted to say -- I love that the budget is $15. That is something affordable that everyone can do.

Last year, I purchased two books for my person because they were around $7 for each book. But this year, my draw is really, really into Kindle books and a lot of the books on their wish list are $1.99 -- which is really, really exciting for me because I can purchase multiple gifts (randomly sending them here and there!) and still be within that budget.

Thanks again to Heather K for organizing. And of course, it is SO wonderful that so many people are participating. I love this little group that we have. I'm not a huge "Christmas" person but when this exchange comes around you'd think it was the best holiday ever.

You all are amazing.

I was like .. I checked the name and email in amazon gift and as soon as I clicked that I was like "Oh shit, I forgot to change my name" aahahahaaha. .. I can laugh about it now but I was really upset yesterday. :D

I get that, I like my anonymity in gifting. But the only thing that was really bad was that after my giftee knew who I was, every time I'd give her a book she'd fuss at me and tell me to stooooop, LOL. I can guarantee your match won't mind! <3

You and me both! I stumped all over my limit for this year, but it's so much fun. I love seeing all the goody messages. Plus, it gives me an excuse to add more books to my to-read list.

I probably spend $50 or more in all, but I stay around $15-20 for my match. Sometimes I go over that, but mostly I buy for others.

One of my people didn't claim their books, but I saw them post the next year. So I re-sent the emails to them and posted about it. They got their books and it all worked out. If they are still active in the group, it might make them really happy if you messaged them :)
