Kelly Why would Davey not let Scout see him as much as Rube? Especially as adults.

I am guessing it's because it reminds him too much of his crime.

Laura Do you mean Swede? I am guessing because Swede has always had the ability to see through people...to see their true colors even if they are pretending. Davy must be afraid of what she would see.
