Hello fellow readers!I hope you'll like the book I nominated. I'm looking forward reading your comments.

Is there someone else reading this? What do you think of it? Does this book deserve to be made into a film? The rights were bought by a big American film company, so it will probably be sooner or later.
I really wanted McKinty to write another book. I really wanted to like this one. I could never buy into the premise that first typical parents could in a matter of days plan and carry out a kidnapping without 90% being caught, second that even a sociopath would see this a sustainable operation. I tried to rationalize it because I so thoroughly like McKinty's writing. He writes action so well but the ending was terrible and wildly improbable. I would love to see his Irish stuff made into movies and for him to become very wealthy. But I would not cross the street to see this one as a movie.
I have liked this author before. Dead I Well May Be was wonderful. However, The Chain was a big disappointment. It was like someone else had written it. Not believable at all. And what happened to his gift for writing dialog?
When I got this book, I knew what kind of reading experience I was going to have. Action, implausible situations (maybe), lack of characters(regular), poor dialogs (some were good), etc. so I really don´t understand some of the reviews complaining about that as if we were expecting some Tolstoi, Borges, Bolano, etc. What I can say is that this book was very entertaining and meet my expectations of a good thriller. Not the best but not bad.

Summary
You just dropped off your child at the bus stop. A panicked stranger calls your phone. Your child has been kidnapped, and the stranger explains that their child has also been kidnapped, by a completely different stranger. The only way to get your child back is to kidnap another child within 24 hours. Your child will be released only when the next victim's parents kidnap yet another child, and most importantly, the stranger explains, if you don't kidnap a child, or if the next parents don't kidnap a child, your child will be murdered. You are now part of The Chain.
