I am looking for a book I read about 30 years ago set in medieval Russia, a young man/prince and the historical detail included a reference to women dying the whites of their eyes to make the whole eye black..the young man/prince name was Dimitri

I have requested the book through inter-library loans, will not know for sure until I read it... you can move it to solved or possibly solved
