ABANDONED. Children’s book where two kids move somewhere and find an old house and help the old people fix it up.

It was about a brother and a sister who moved somewhere out in the country. They go exploring and find an old house, and they meet an elderly couple and start helping them fix it up. At the end they end up getting the place, and then there’s a sequel where they start patching it up. In the sequel there’s a dumbwaiter and the brother gets stuck in it. That’s all I can remember, but if anyone knows this please help.
