That's great. Hope you enjoy it as well :-)
I'm reading Winter's Mourn by Mary Stone. It's the first book in her Winter Black FBI Mystery series. So far I'm enjoying it :-)

Thriller
Overall, this tense and exciting thriller keeps the reader on an emotional rollercoaster, quickly turning pages with the hope that the world will be safe. This was an excellent start to what I hope will be a long high-octane and dynamic series.

Western
Entertaining
Good character development
I read the Winter Black FBI Series Season One—Winter's Mourn to Winter's End—by Mary Stone.

That sounds like a great series.

Thriller / Horror
The world-building was fantastic in all four parts of the story. With a combination of mystery and horror, it is suspenseful, gritty, heartbreaking, and atmospheric with plenty of chills.

Paranormal Cozy Mystery
Excellent characterization and a solid mystery made this one an enjoyable read.

Mystery set in Alaska
Overall, this enjoyable mystery was engaging, suspenseful, atmospheric, and full of adventure. Darker than many cozy mysteries, the well-developed ideas with good pacing from scene to scene kept me turning the pages.

Crime Thriller / Police Procedural
Need to read the series in order to avoid spoilers.
Thought-provoking, violent, atmospheric

Political Thriller / Espionage
This story has great pacing, a twisty and absorbing plot, and plenty of exciting scenes. My main quibble is that I didn’t quite feel like I was in Switzerland. I needed a little more world-building for that. Despite this, I thoroughly enjoyed the novel. Overall, this high-octane thriller was entertaining, thought-provoking, and a powerful page-turner from start to finish.

Crime Thriller
FBI - K-9
Eighth book in the series
Overall, this tense, engaging, and tragic thriller gripped me from the beginning.

Yes, it was good, though it ended on a bit of a cliffhanger and continued on to Autumn Trent Series Season One—Autumn's Game to Autumn's Trap.
I enjoyed this series too. The last book wrapped up the main points of the story nicely. Which is good. I can enjoy an overarching plot if it concludes within a certain number of books but not if it continues for very long.
The ending did leave a margin for sequels and spin-offs though, and I would like to read Season Two of both the series plus the Emma Last FBI Series one of these days.
Enjoyed it :-)"

Police / Crime Thriller with some Horror
Overall, this is a fast-paced and perturbing thriller with some dark humor to break the suspense occasionally.

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Cozy Mystery
Entertaining, light, amateur sleuth, small town, romance potential, too many characters

Medical Thriller
After a slow start, the ending brings the suspense, danger, and foreboding that one expects from a medical crime thriller. Additionally, it looks at the levels of hospital staffing and the effects of a lost colleague on other staff members. The plot has plenty of twists and turns, but is unbelievable at times. My main quibble is that the antagonist was too easy to identify and it’s confirmed about half-way through the book. Despite this, I enjoyed the investigation part of the story which kept me intrigued.

Medical and Political Thriller
Pandemic
Written before the recent coronavirus, but many parallels plus some extra geopolitics.
Plenty of information on the science and history of viruses and pandemics.
I read books 1 to 4 of the Deadly Sight series by Ava Bradley. I enjoyed them all though my favourite was book 2: Her Darkest Fear. I'm looking forward to reading the 5th book when it comes out.

Novella
Overall, this is well-written, engaging, and gripping with complex characters in a historical setting.

Fiction - Family Drama, A Cold Case, and A Genetic Mystery
Overall, this story is emotional, entertaining, and thought-provoking. The author delivers a vivid story of life and drama.

C'mon... How hard is it to come up with a title like Sex and the Single Dad. Or, The Nanny and the Single Dad. Or, The Nanny's Baby. Or, The Single Dad's (or The Nanny's) Surprise...
Of course, I added to my TBR. Free is free after all. But, really! :o)

I read a Romantic Suspense titled "Where the Blame Lies" by Mia Sheridan. I had to skim over certain scenes as they were hard to read but overall I enjoyed the book. The strength, resilience, and selflessness of the female protagonist blew me away. Now starting "Where the Truth Lives".

Crime Thriller
Overall, this is a fast-paced and entertaining thriller with some humor to break the suspense occasionally. If you enjoy crime thrillers with humor, a twisty plot, and a protagonist who is a thief and a master of disguise, then look no further.

Police Procedural / Crime Thriller
Overall, this is a tense, gritty, and engaging novel with wit, suspense, action, and some great twists as well as some violence. The author’s writing style continues to hook me quickly, and the story builds momentum that leads to an action-filled conclusion.
I read "Where the Blame Lies" and "Where the Truth Lives" by Mia Sheridan. Both are good—though I personally liked the first one more—but they need to be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
Some excerpts:

Love didn’t end. Love never died. Love went on and on, like a swiftly moving river. No matter the obstacle, it continued forward, an unending force moving around, over, into—carving away at the rocky shores in its path.

"I love you," he repeated. "Every imperfect, flawed part of you. Every heroic, selfless part of you. The part that's fallen, and the part that’s gotten back up, over and over and over. You."
*******
"Throughout the most horrific moments of her life, she followed the instinct to love. To protect. To save." He looked at Reed. "It kept her human. It anchored her heart, maybe even her mind, though I don't pretend to understand how a mind is lost."
*******
"Don't deny your past, Liza. It’s not your shame to carry. Grieve it and then use it to strengthen others. You made it. You're here, and I have no idea how, but you are. That's the story I really want to hear. Maybe someday you'll tell it to me, because I'd like to believe monsters don't get the final say."
*******
She had no idea how strong she truly was. How unbelievably loving. She’d walked out of hell with love still in her heart. How miraculous was that?
*******
"Love heals, Liza. Those aren't just words. And I think acting in love doesn't just heal others. It heals yourself."
*******
"All I'm saying is that if you need to climb stairs in the dark then you do that. And if you'll let me, I'll be waiting for you on the other side, and I'll be cheering you on."
*******
"You wanted to know about our grandfather? He didn't just hurt us, he thought he'd create another version of himself. He thought he had the perfect recipe."
"Well," Charles sighed. "His recipe was a little off because you're a few cinnamon sticks short of an apple pie, my friend. You do realise that, right?"
*******
All people moved between darkness and light into those gray areas between the two, the only difference between any of them being the degree in which they walked in shadow and how far they traveled into murkier depths. Sometimes an evil man acted as a hero, and sometimes a victim became a tormenter. Criminals exhibited unexpected grace, and honest men had moments of great weakness. There was a strange, terrible, beautiful, complicated universe inside them all where nothing was simply black or white.
*******
But in his heart, a specific desire burned brighter. The need to prove he belonged. That he wasn't just a terrible accident not meant to happen. That his existence mattered—not only to himself or those who loved him, but to others too. Strangers who might one day be thankful he'd shown up in their life when he did.
*******
Yes, he would work hard. Every day, he would strive to honor the people who had loved him so deeply.

Murder Mystery / Crime Novel
Overall, it hooked me with the first two chapters. My biggest quibbles are that it is somewhat far-fetched at times and the ending was somewhat abrupt and didn’t provide the full closure that I wanted.

Thanks. I finished it today. It was good, especially that twist at the end :-) I'm now starting the next book: Her Final Breath.

Police Procedural / Crime Thriller / Romantic Suspense
The author is a great storyteller with gripping scenes and a disturbing story intermixed with a couple trying to decide if they can reconcile and be happy together. The plot moves at a fast pace with twists and turns. The antagonist’s identity was a complete surprise to me.

Somewhat dated, but still a page turner
PamG wrote: "Here is my 4.44 rounded to 4 stars review of The Dollmaker

I've read The Dollmaker, along with the other two books in her Forgotten Files series: The Shark and The Hangman. Some of the scenes were a bit too gruesome for me but other than that I enjoyed the books. I've also read and enjoyed some of her other books including The Seventh Victim and No Escape.
