Karen (xkamx) | 101 comments Wild Devotion (Wilder Irish, #3) by Mari Carr (aka March Wind (Wilder Irish, #3) by Mari Carr )
Just finished rereading Wild Devotion (aka March Wind) by Mari Carr -- AGAIN. It's one of my favorite stories.

(You can read My Original Review here.)

I'm actually working my way through both "Irish" series, Wild Irish and Wilder Irish, again. They tell the stories of the Collins family, the children and grandchildren, respectively, of patriarch Patrick Collins.

Every once in a while I remember a line or scene from one of these books. I go to the book intending to just reread the scene or whatever, but wind up reading the entire book. That pretty much leads to reading the two series again -- as if I didn't have more than enough new reads awaiting me.

If you haven't read them, I highly recommend both series. While there are some stories I love more than others, I enjoy reading all of them. They're go-to, feel-good stories I revisit often.

Ms. Carr has another series, Italian Stallions, that comprises stories of an Italian family who appear in -- and are related to characters from -- the Wilder Irish stories. There is only one book in this series (to date), with another due in June. Though it can be read as a standalone series, I'd recommend reading the two "Irish" series first.

PamG (lynguy1) | 1148 comments Here is my review of A Blizzard of Polar Bears A Blizzard of Polar Bears (Alex Carter, #2) by Alice Henderson by Alice Henderson. Alice Henderson has become my favorite author that emphasizes facets of nature in a crime thriller. Overall, this combined mystery, nature, the environment, action adventure, and survival into one fantastic crime novel.

PamG (lynguy1) | 1148 comments Enola Holmes and the Elegant Escapade Enola Holmes and the Elegant Escapade (Enola Holmes #8) by Nancy Springer by Nancy Springer is the 8th book in the Enola Holmes series. This series brings together Sherlock Holmes and his much younger sister Enola in a teen / young adult historical mystery set in and around London in late 1889. The author blends suspense, a bold protagonist, and humor in this latest case for Enola.
