OMG! I can't believe but I found them! I've been looking for these books for the past three years and tried every form of google search and could never find themI finally wrote down some things about the front cover art and about sprites in general and manually went through all of google images and found these books as the very last image on google images :P
I did get some things wrong regarding the Sprite story. For one thing she's a wood fairy and it was only one book that had a sprite in it. The cover page I mentioned about two sprites crouching near a tree was actually the woodland fairy and the Sprite on a raft (was right about the flood though) and it wasn't an oracle, it was a crystal. The rest I was spot on. Anyway I'm so glad I found these since they were a major part of my childhood. These books helped me when I went through bullying at my school (not the overt physical kind, just general mocking etc) and these books helped me escape.
For anyone interested, these are Stardust Classics Series which were published from 1991-2001. Lovely books for kids ages 7 and up :)

I was actually looking for these too. Loved these as a kid.
I read these books in my school's library back when I was 6th grade I think (or maybe 5th grade?) So I guess around 2005-2006.
The books had three different protagonists and all of them had separate books. I don't know if they lived in a connected world or something since there wasn't any mention of it in the books I had managed to read (didn't read all of them, only the ones that were available in the library)
I remember the one with Sprite better than others because I reread that the most. The series with the Sprite had three books I believe (could have been more but those were the ones in the library). I remember the front cover of one book and it had a Sprite crouched near a tree I think with a male Sprite behind her (or something like that) the cover art was gorgeous.
So anyway there was something about these spirites being born on one day. I think the flowers opened up and new sprite babies would be there. There was also something about an oracle but I don't remember much about it accept I think everything about their history had been recorded in it. And it also had some kind of prophecy. I think the main protagonist also saves the sprites from some sort of disaster, i think it was a flood. There was also a part in one of the books where no new baby sprites were born because the flowers did not open. There were three books about the Sprite girl that i read.
The next series of books was about this young girl who was a time traveller. I think she and her a grandmother (but could have been her father. In fact I think it was her father) time travelled but I think they made the machine to actually look for someone (her mother maybe?). I only read one book for this protagonist. The front cover had a picture of a girl holding some sort of a contraption. Like a machine box thingie. I assumed at the time that it was the time machine. Also they never knew where the machine would take them. It would just activate on its own and take them into the past. I think the book I read had them going to Egypt.
The third protagonist was a princess. I remember reading two of her books. One of which had the princess on the front cover, holding a lantern I think and climbing stairs. Her books had her learning magic from a merlin like character. There was also a scene in which she's in a dungeon. I don't think the book i read first was the first one in her series since many things were unexplained and it seemed to me like some past events were being eluded, in fact I'm pretty sure that the two books I read were books 2 and 3.
That's pretty much all i remember. I'm almost 90% sure the author was a female and at the back of each book, whether it was the sprite series or the princess series or the time traveller series, there would be a brief description of all three female characters.
If this could wrack someone's memory i would be so grateful :)
