This book was amazing. At first I thought this was just another overtyped novel, but honestly it was great. I cried multiple times just reading about the hardships that August goes through. Knowing how mean middle school kids can be, I related to a lot of things that were said and done to him, either through being the bully or the person bullied. I think we all have either said or heard one of our friends say something mean to someone else, so it is interesting to see this from the perspective of someone being bulled. It makes me look at people differently, and even though not everyone might have the same facial difference as him, they still might have other things making them different and just as vulnerable. Even though there is a rough start, the ending makes this well worth the read. One of the best books I've ever read and if you are looking for a heart wrentching yet beautiful novel, this is the one for you!
