I love all the characters, love how consistent the story and related to many of the characters.I am about to begin The Best of Me, I have read all previous books by Sparks and his average rating is a 4, so I hope this does not disappoint.
On holiday in New Zealand, so haven't done much reading, but have completed

I just finished The Best of Me and was slighlt disappointed reading it. It was good but not great as his previous novels.I am about to begin

Ok I don't think I really know what I want to read...Currently reading The Girl in the Steel Corset (15.5), 1Q84 (20.2), The Surgeon (25.8), I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You (30.3), and 1984 (50.1)
Still have The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and I Heard That Song Before going as well as Murder at the Opera.
I have decided I need to finish the tasks that I am in the middle of. It is the last month and I have to finish some of these books.
I started on The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf last night. I'm a few chapters into it so far and its a bit of a page turner.

I'm just starting Ann Patchett's State of Wonder on my Kindle, have Kate Morton's The Forgotten Garden going on audiobook in the car, and am reading the first of Kevin Emerson's Oliver Nocturne series, Vampire's Photograph, out loud with my son. I also have Mary Doria Russell's A Thread of Grace sitting on the bedside table, but it would get more attention if I wasn't already so sleepy by the time I saw it each evening!
Ellie wrote: "I just started reading the second book in the Stephanie Plum series Two for the Dough."I have been reading the series between heavier books. I love the series.
I've just started on Salman Rushdie's Midnight's Children. I am DONE with paranormal and urban fantasy for now and in need of some quality literature at the moment. Suggestions welcome!

I'm reading Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire: The Methods and Madness Inside Room 56 and The Help. Have yet to start on my other books Ready Player One and Snuff... and having a hard time deciding what I want to read for 50.1 (published in the 1970s). I borrowed The French Lieutenant's Woman from the library, then realised it was published in 1969 (won a prize in 1970 - doh!). Started on Angle of Repose but am finding it tough going at the end of the challenge - may leave it to spring instead since it's >500 pages long.

Reading Agatha Christie always takes me back to my teenage years. I finished her mysteries then... I find her writing somewhat stilted now (and Hercule Poirot quite annoying!) but there are still a few standouts in her repertoire I enjoy revisiting.
