I am currently reading I Am Nujood, Age 10 and Divorced, Henry VIII, Jane Eyre & Tales of a Female Nomad (which I'm not excited about... I'm an anthropology major and I've heard this woman is as well... and is a joke).

Jensownzoo | 125 comments I finished listening to the audiobook of Great Expectations by Charles Dickens last night (in the wee hours). I hope to finish Travels With Charley: In Search of America by John Steinbeck tonight. I need to whittle down my "currently reading" list a bit this weekend before starting something new...which is killing me because Cleo arrived in the mail today and I really want to start it! Seven books going at once is a bit much though.

message 1690: by Bea (new)

Bea Finished Dead in the Family. A delightful read! Even though it is book #10 of a series, I found that I was able to follow the story and enjoy it without having read any of the other books.

Still reading The Alhambra Decree and Memoirs of a Geisha. I own both so, although I am reading them slowly, they get pushed to the back of the pile while I try to finish the many library books that are coming due.

Started Mrs. Dalloway, which has no chapters! Expect to finish it this holiday weekend. Also plan to read Choke and Pirate Latitudes over this long weekend.

If I accomplish all of that reading in the next three days, I will have completed two additional tasks! I seem to be doing one book of two book tasks right now.

message 1698: by Peter (new)

Peter Medley | 1 comments The Perfect Deceit

An intriguing and fascinating book on how countries vie against each other to be top dog on the world stage. Spies, double agents, love triangles -- it’s all in a day’s work for super spy Alexey! In today’s interconnected world, this book gives an interesting perspective on how much competition goes on behind the scenes with ambitions and stakes running high. Hearts are broken and for some power is gained.

Illuminating book on the espionage sphere. Lots of mind games involved. Great book with high drama. Makes for a perfect summer read!

message 1699: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 8987 comments Peter - you are spamming this thread - your book isn't one that is being read for the challenge and you already started another thread on it

message 1700: by Sue (new)

Sue (suetinge) | 1580 comments I'm still reading The Lotus Eaters - good read, but heavy subject matter. I also started The Silver Ship and the Sea.
