Kathleen | 16 comments The Three Giller Girls (authors of 'Reading Between The Wines...the story of a traveling book club") just returned from the first annual Book Club retreat on the shores of beautiful Lake Huron in Ontario.
A workshop format was the focus with hands-on demonstrations from the Bites and Bevies section of their book. The Top 13 Favorite Books were discussed by all the participants with many suggestions submitted for next years list.

Kathleen, have you gotten into The Paris Wife at all? I've been moving through it slowly, distracted by a few other books right now, but I'm loving it. Wondering what other people think of it

message 1515: by Megan (new)

Megan | 6 comments I've added a few books to my current reading selection. Queen Hereafter: A Novel of Margaret of Scotland (a fascinating history, and so far wonderfully written) and City of Glory: A Novel of War and Desire in Old Manhattan (also a great read for anyone interested in the rich history of New York's early years). I'm also re-reading Jane Eyre before I watch the movie. Just love treating myself to those tried and true classics!

I've been putting it off for a while now. So far it's OK, but not wonderful. I need to spend some time with it, I tend to keep getting distracted by other things like fiction and the internet. LOL

We were fortunate in meeting Lisa in Denver at a presentation while working on our book(her comments can bee seen on our cover). She is generous and giving with great insight, clearly demonstrated throughout both of her books. We are all lucky to see the world through her eyes.

message 1550: by Dee (new)

Dee (austhokie) | 8987 comments i liked it...i did a chapter/case a night...i liked that they weren't overly long and full of legal mumbo-jumbo...and it definately made me interested in actually reading some of the official opinions about the cases...specially the Japanese internment camp one and then the one involving UofM law school
