1st Edition find - could I value this somewhere

To confirm you have a true first edition EOD, the first edition has $18.95 on the dust jacket and says "first published in 1987 by Viking Penguin" on the copyright page...... 400,000 came off the first printing with a scaled dust jacket. That is key..... If you feel texture on the dustjacket (i.e. can feel the raised scales of the dragon), you've got a first printing. The value of the first printing has a very wide range..... If it is in very good condition, is not price clipped, has no remainder marks or inscribings, and has a tight binding it's value is $20 to $25.... However, you will find people selling theirs for a lot more.... On ebay you will see some people listing theirs from $30 to $60, regardless of the condition. But a lot of people on ebay who think they have first printings are usually wrong and don't know what they have or their value. If you meet the criteria above and have the true first printing, your true value is: $15 in good good condition, $20-$25 in very good condition, and $25-$30 in excellent condition..... If you plan on selling it on ebay, double these numbers. Eventually some sucker will come along and buy it.

Wally

For questions regarding ANY King 1st editions, go here: https://stephenking.com/faq.html

Although that is the official site, it's not run by King himself and only give you general information on the first editions, like the year of publication and company... It doesn't go into the finer details of identifying printings or values..... The most helpful site for first edition, first printing identifications and values is https://www.stephenkingcollector.com/........ but a lot of his values are not up to date.
