They're trapped in a maze or something and only get food (sausages I think?) when they do a series of things correctly. The food triggers become more and more elaborate, and the kids start to turn on each other if one of them messes up. Eventually they get out, but the stoplight outside looks like the light on the food dispenser, and so they start up the ritual again.
